Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Sony has lied, repeatedly, and if you don't care, that's cool, but that doesn't change the facts.
Just 2 weeks ago, Sony plainly refuted delay rumors and loudly proclaimed that they were still on schedule for a Spring launch. That was only 2 weeks "in the past" Sony also vehemently stated that their E3 presentation was all gameplay footage. Now, it's "uhhh, did we say in-game?"
Sony says HDD is included, then others in the company say it may be *required*, then Kutaragi makes cryptic comments, which are both supported and refuted by Sony thenselves. Pro Sony media outlets say hooray, it's in...only to retract the statements the next day. They don't even know whats happening in their own comany!? WTF? Have you ever heard of a company making a comment about a controller being mandatory to play games? Of course not, because that's freaking obvious...and if the HD was 100% guranteed out of the box, Kenny K would come out and clearly say it, the world would celebrate, and it would be a non-issue.Why? Because it's use would be obvious, not up for debate or speculation. But once again we get vague innuendo:
kotaku: HDD still not confirmed
I've even seen articles reflecting that the late arrival of the compilers may limit the number of games at launch, and that they could very well appear subpar in comparison to 360's 2nd gen.
Gamespot Link
Arstechnica Link
Mark my words, a world-wide PS3 launch will be a cataclysmic meltdown. Not. Enough. Systems. You think MS had supply problems with just one strong-ish (US) market? Try satisfying 3 voracious markets with even less product to go around.
I'm getting a Ps3 reguardless, but Sony's tactics to this point have been shameful. (Back to Oblivion)Last edited by HMcCoy; 03-23-2006, 05:36 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Just a couple of things for MS...backwards compatibility deception(not to mention excluding games like DOA:U so you have to buy the similar sequel), overpricing accessories beyond reason.
Or rushing out Halo 2 so it doesn't clash with the 360 launch.
MS also
less product then the 360? Wow.Comment

I must say that PS3 in that color (Black?) does look pretty cool. It almost has a mirrored finish. I wonder if that's just for display purposes or if the Black PS3 will look like that?
They really need to lose the Spiderman 2 font it looks dorky.Comment
