They never promised anything. They said it would release in Spring but it was delayed for Japan. THat's not a promise. Games get delayed a lot. Just take a look at your "underdog" 2KSPORTS, they've delayed games a lot this past year.

yea but we are not talkin bout 2k delays. sony did say spring 06 and they also had a promo pic of ps3 and spring 06 on their site also...

i said it b4 and i'll say it again.... all i was doing was telling the guy that it was delayed.... im gettin flamed for just stating an unbiased fact?? i would understand if i said something like "ps3 is the sux0r" or "MS r00ls s0ny". I know PS3 will be an advance piece of high tech and will be great and i will prob pick one up if i can find one at launch. i know that most of you knew that ps3 will be out at winter but i wasn't talkin bout what y'all thought or assumed. i was stating facts while you were stating what you thought.....

That is usually the case. The stores probably wont start taking them until an official price is announced.

Safest bet seems to be preorder one now and decide to sell it or keep it later as news comes out.

The best thing to do is call the store once a week to ask about pre-orders. I almost missed out on a 360 at EBgames as I was the last to pre-order. But conversely I was the first on their list the day the system. Because I took back over 500 cd's to pay the 360 off early.

The First People who Pay in Full and who pre-order jump to the top of the list.

All those people bitchen about pre-ordering their 360 and still not getting one didnt pay it in full.

uhm how am i taking shots at sony. i was just tellin the dood that said "way to go for sony to squash those delay rumors" or something, that it is delayed. see guys like you who are crazy fanboy's turn me away from products such as ps3 or xbox360, or ea games. all these biased views and ignorant comments and defenses of products you back up as if they were your mother, make me go the way of the underdog, such as 2k sports over EA or maybe even microsoft over sony.... one reason i also want to see hd-dvd do well over bluray is because of fanboys who have no idea what this technology brings or even if it has any real advantages at the moment. i was pretty optimistic and looking forward to ps3 but all their lame anouncements and all the fanboys who praise the heavens that sony announced a global launch in november have soured my taste...... now im just in a wait and see mode for ps3, not excited for it at all......

(and am I the only one dissapointed in a global nov. launch? i wanted to see this thing in action in spring just like sony promised)

I was thinking of pre-ordering the pS3. Any idea of when and who will be taking pre-orders? Also, how much do they require you put down? Thanks.

The pre-orders are $50 down.

I am hearing that it will be around the time of E3 that people start taking pre-orders at least gamestop and eb. I don't know about other places. APOC says he has pre-ordered a couple of PS3's but when I asked him where, I got no response so take that for what its worth.

And for the comments about me being a fanboy, guilty as charged. I like Sony. Don't know why, but I do. I have not made a crazy comment or anythign of that sort when talking about them with you. So I would appreciate you getting your facts in order before trying to call someone out or place unecessary fault at someone's feet.

And for the other post about fanboyism, I still have no idea what your point was. I would love for you to explain it to me. Or better yet, with your permission of course, I copy it, take to my philosophy class and as a group of about 18 students, we'll try and disect it and find the meaning. Could be a final exam for us. Man that will be tough.

What really sucks is that you cannot save games with the HDD. You will be required to buy memory cards for game saves.
