Hopefully that means we'll see consoles selling at $400

Sony better hope that they get their money back soon. I don't know how any company could survive losing $900 billion.

There is NO WAY that they are planning to lose 900 billion. That's more than the U.S. government "loses" in a year. 900 billion is more comparable to the GDP of the whole world than something comparable to money that a company can afford to lose....

The stock market currently has the value of Sony at 48 Billion. That's not the value of the games division but the whole mega-corporation. All its liquid and hard assests, tradmarks, patents, projected postion in the furture market, everything. I don't think losing 900 billion is part of the plan! LOL

900 MILLION maybe. That's realistic. I don't remember exactly what Microsoft's planned losses were on XBOX1 but it was in that range. I think a little more. 900 Million id a HUGE loss for a company that is already the market leader to plan to take and recover later but it might be realistic. 900 Billion, 1000X more, has to be just plain incorrect.

Its a typo, But Losing almost %2 of the value of the company before one console is sold isnt a good thing.

The projected loss is going to be about 2 billion NOT 900 billion.

Who knows. Sony could be talking big losses and the rumor of a high price on the console. It could be a smoke Screen..

All signs point to $399 at this point. They will sell much more systems that way. They need to find ways to catch up to Microsoft and this is the best way.

PS3 will catch up to 360 faster then anybody expects, the brand has a MASSIVE worldwide fanbase that cant be matched by MS. by MAY 2007 Sony will be leading the race, the 360 sales will slow down with the PS3 and Wii(wow..) out there in the market.

PS3 will catch up to 360 faster then anybody expects, the brand has a MASSIVE worldwide fanbase that cant be matched by MS. by MAY 2007 Sony will be leading the race, the 360 sales will slow down with the PS3 and Wii(wow..) out there in the market.

By May 2007 they will likey only manufacture 4 to 5 million units world wide. XBOX 360 will likely be over 8 million.

Just from the name SONY, thats what your opinion would be..Just what if it's the other way around, and they don't catch up. Your post should be reversed, everyone does expect Sony to catch up fast, but maybe it will slower then people expect.

Sony won't catch Microsoft until 2009 at the least. No way in hell they get close by May. Maybe 2008 but more liekly 2009. That's if the price is $399.

If the PS3 doesn't make it out in the Fall like some speculation is being made about this, than expect MS to have a nice big jump on them.
