Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II

    Q25. Why isn't 20GB PS3 equipped with Memory Stick/SD Memory card/Compact Flash slots ?
A25. PS3 is a computer system. Storage devices can be expanded by using adaptors available on the market.

Q26. The 20GB PS3 does not come with Wi-Fi 802.11, but does this mean that it cannot be connected to PSP ?
A26. Home networking is spreading around the world. With the use of widely available wireless LAN adaptor with USB port, connection to PSP is possible.

Q27. Why did you reduce the number of USB ports from 6 to 4 ?
A27. PS3 is a computer system. Number of ports can be expanded by using adaptors available on the market.
    Hell yeah

Q22. Can you enjoy progressive images with PS and PS2 titles ?

A22. Not only does PS3 convert images from SD to HD, it also converts interlace to progressive images (upward conversion is done by the PS3 system).

      Q24. Is 60GB HDD large enough for PS3 ?
A24. 60GB is 3 times the capacity of Xbox360 and at the moment we consider it enough to save online game data as well as to transfer various data from other PCs and CE/AV products. If there is need in the future, it is also possible to upgrade storage capacity by exchanging HDD to Serial-ATA 2.5" HDD available on the market.

...and GRAW. I'd be all over the PS3 at launch if it was reasonably priced. Will (possibly) get it after a decent price drop.

If the PS3 was at the $400 price range like the 360 was, I'd be all over it also. I'll have to wait till sometime next year or the following to get this.

Honestly, I think the PS3 is gonna be sweet. Three years from now, Sony's first-party stuff will be insane, and I sure hope to have one by then.

I'm just so thankful that the 360 has more than enough games coming to fill the void until the PS3 price is right. Both EGM and GI had preview blowouts, and MS has a crazy ammount of nice games for the next year.

I don't think that Sony's 600.00 price tag is all that mind-numbingly bad when you consider that adding the hi-def media player and a wi-fi would make the 360 the same price but why would I want to spend an EXTRA 600 when I'm already perfectly happy with my current rig with slick online service and TONS of great stuff on the way (looking at you, Mass Effect ) For my pockets, hanging back is a no-brainer. Hell, gimme Spore and Crysis, and it's a clean sweep for the new 'Box.

The only PS3 title that had my palms itchy was Assassins Creed, but if MLB: The Show takes the appropriate leap, I may still have to break down. PS3 should be great, but in my mind MS has the dev lead (comparing PS first wave to MS 2nd-3rd wave) and prolly won't catch up for at least a couple years. Why would I pay an extra grand to take a step backwards? What has Sony showed that looks better than GOW?

That's the thing. The PS3 isn't so expensive when you realize what it comes built in with. Ofcourse people leave that out but whatever. I bought a 360 and am happy with the purchase but would definatly look to add a PS3 to my collection also but not until next year.

I don't look at what it comes with because it is a Blue Ray Trojan Horse. It is too expensive for me right now. The 360 currently looks as good, there is no winner in the new dvd format wars (not to mention how long it will take for people to acutally go away from normal DVDs) and there is all this its a PC nonsense. Have these people tried gaming with a PC? There can be challenges abound. I don't want another PC, I want an entertainment machine.

Amen, like when I bought NFL Head Coach for my PC 2 weeks ago. Plays fine for a half then just goes back to the desktop. I know I could probably get it working with enough messing around but instead it just sits unused because when I get free time I don't feel like using it on diagnosing a freakin' game, when I get free time I want to play said game.

And yeah the price is so darned high because of that Blue-Ray that alot of people will never even use. What the heck kind of name is that anyways, sounds like an ocean animal like a shark or something. I don't get Sony sometimes. As people have said in this thread, if the PS3 was $400 i'd be all over it, but being it's so much more I'm gonna wait, maybe a long time.

especially with the cost of a Blu-Ray DVD. I see Basic Instinct 2, the blu-ray edition, in the best buy sale paper for $27.99. No way I would pay that much for 1 movie.
