The PS3 will still sell out, but I think that they will be in some big trouble with what they are trying to do with this machine.

I disagree. PS3 is the only true "next-gen" console coming out. 360 is, for the most part, unimpressive and ultimately more expensive than the PS3 when you factor in paying for Live over a 4-5 year term, and Wii is a gimmick machine without HD graphics.

This is not to say that I am sold on PS3 - I just may refrain from getting any of these consoles for the first year or 2. Have plenty of great current-gen titles I still need to play!

What lol, OK. But keep in mind the 360 has only been out for about a year. Give the game developers time to get used to it, them you will see some sick games.

While I'm quite certain that the PS3 will be a very impressive piece of machinery, I am not expecting much the first 2 years.

Expect multi-platform titles, with the few exceptions to exclusive titles for the PS3. If you're expecting this huge difference in what is "next-gen" between the PS3 and the 360, you're setting your expectations pretty high and will most likely be let down.

You know, I've never understood why people care about sales at all, but especially when it comes to sales in Japan. I mean, half the games they're buying never even come over here. In Japan, Hello Kitty, dating games, and train sims are huge deals and GTA, Halo, and Madden sell about 10,000 copies. No **** the 360 isn't selling well in Japan, it's biggest games are FPS', sports games, Oblivion, Halo 3, and other games for American gamers. Even the Japanese games coming out are games more geared towards Americans, like RE5.
