oh ok I understand. During a brawl, sometimes there will be this rainbow colored circle item floating around. Start hitting it and whoever breaks it can perform their character's final smash. To do a final smash, yes, you just press B.

Do you need a GC controller to get all the moves? Or will I be fine with the nunchuk and wiimote?

Some seem much stronger than others too or require timing or placement to work. I've survived getting whacked by a few as well.

Picked this up at lunch...I may just use the classic controller I have, not gonna go out and buy a wireless GC controller just for this game and it seems like the classic I have works fine (and would give me a reason to use it lol).

I don't blame you, I don't think the wiimote-nunchuck is a very good fit for this type game. If only the classic controller wasn't connected by that cord...

I compiled all of the friend codes I found in this thread and posted them at the top of that thread in the Online forum, an easy place to get a collection of names, if everybody goes there and adds everybody else, it should work well. I'll try to keep that top post updated with all of the new friend codes posted in that thread

You don't technically have to be fast... but you have to be good with the shield, spinning, and side-steps. Even though Luigi's pretty fast, the use of the shield and spins have saved me multiple times.

Do some of these unlockable characters appear randomly? Because I know we haven't played 400 matches or whatever and we encountered Sonic and got him. Same thing happened with Falcon. It must be random as well as being achievable.

haha yeah that was the first time I ever played a real smash game......took me a while, but I think I got the basics down now. Just gotta learn to grab and dodge now.
