I looked at your Battle Points on the Leaderboards, otherwise I was partially joking, haha. I couldn't see your record or anything, but you had something like 390 BP. Go to Leaderboards, and switch to the "Friends" filter.

So I'm 100-26 overall. They go by quickly though.

For you, and anyone who wants to learn the moves, hit me up on XBL, and I'll give you the ABCs of execution in SF.

ah alright. and yeah I figured you were joking, I know I'm not that good yet.

390 bp? Not sure where the system got that number from, I haven't played a ranked match today and last night I finished with 186 (after three consecutive wins which, by the way, didn't get me the achievement).

I'll record one this week on the Youtubes, but for now, here are some quick tips:

--Pick ONE character to start with. Get good with one character, and then move on afterwards. Too many characters too early is a bad thing

--Once you pick that character, master their NORMAL moves. For instance, Ken is famous for his Shoryuken, but nearly as important is his towards and medium kick move (>, m.kick) This is the move where he walks into a kick. Why is this so hot? Because without a dash or a jump in, you can close a lot of space with him. This counters a lot of anti-Ken strategy. That's just one example. Part of what makes SF unique is how effective each button is in a specific situation. So take the time to figure out the range and angle of each of your six attack buttons.

--Learn ONE combo. I'll use Ken again as an example. If your ONLY combo is Fierce/Fierce Shoryuken, then that's fine. Do that combo every single time you get the opportunity. Once you master this, it'll be easier for you to learn other combos and drag and drop them into place.

--Learn your "safe moves". These are moves that aren't punishable when blocked. For Ken/Ryu, crouching m.kick+Hadoken is completely safe. Once the crouching kick hits, you can't do anything about it but block. Use your safe moves to apply pressure and tick off energy. Most opponents will overreact to this and start playing erratically, making themselves more predictable and making it easier for you to land big hits.

--Once you learn the above, gameplan around it. It's all useless if you spend the whole round reacting. If you're planning to land Ken's Ultra, you're trying to get your opponent to jump. Jumping backwards, throwing hadokens, throwing out sweeps--these are all things that make people jump. Since you're waiting for it, give them the fool's reward as soon as they take the bait.

For Ryu, his ultra/super is a hadoken that EATS other projectiles. What's a great setup? Getting them to throw one of those projectiles. Start up a faux projectile battle, and as soon as they take the bait, eat their hadoken and enjoy the fireworks.

Start off with a simple game, and add on to it. When you go into Challenge Mode, take whatever combos you can do perfectly, no matter how simple they are, and gameplan around those combos. Mix this up with your normals--which are VERY important in SF--and you'll find yourself learning to control a battle.

Building on your gameplan is more important than winning and losing in the beginning. If you go out with the goal of nailing that one combo, the real victory is improving how many times you create the opportunity and capitalize on it. Victory follows consistent execution.
Tips on execution will be coming in a vid. Execution is simple, but tough to explain without showing you the timing.
