How can you tell the difference between a wolf and a coyote?

The only way I can tell is after I skin them when Wolf Meat +1 pops up.

Just shoot them all. Eventually you'll get what you're looking for.

Wolves are bigger and darker, that's how I tell anyway

Coyotes won't attack you? I'm not sure, I have only encountered wolves once and they started attacking me immediately. Coyotes have always ran way from me.

Wolfs growl when they are near. Coyotes don't.

coyotes are smaller

I have a hard time telling the difference between coyotes and foxes...but it's usually a coyote that I see because foxes are pretty difficult to find

Coyotes will attack you I believe.

It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a wolf and coyote if they are right up on you. Usually if its bigger and has more fur and not completely brown its more than likely a wolf. I hate wolfs/coyotes I can't ever get a criminal back alive once I rope him him because, as soon as the wolfs show up his buddies pop up and it was difficult for me(240 bucks alive and 120 dead). I gamble to much.

I then learned you can put the criminal on the back of the horse and just take off like that.

So I'm doing the mission where you have to climb mountains and then that Dutch dude shoots you. I climb up the mountains and I see an already dead animal laying on the ground. Hmm, that's odd. But I want it's meat so I go skin it. While the game is showing me skinning the animal a huge *** cougar comes jumping towards me from behind. That was the single most badass moment I've ever witnessed in a video game. I literally jumped out of my seat because I very much wasn't expecting that.

I then shot the cougar in the head and skinned it. Nobody ****s with John Marston.

Any tips for shooting a person's hat off (type of gun / level of deadeye needed etc)? As is said earlier when i shoot them their head explodes and the hat never comes off.

I can't do it for the sharpshooter challenge. Sorry if this have been mention but how many levels are there for each challenge (sharpshooter, survivalist etc)?

Just had a nice scare.

I'm hunting wolves and come across one (at least I think I can't tell the difference) so I hope off my horse with my knife out and ready. Damn animal was acting all tough, but took off running. So I give chase. Right as I get on top of the wolf I am blindsided by a moutain lion (I think?) it scared the poop outta of me. Never saw it coming. Wasn't even in the screen until it hit me. By the time I knew what happend it hit me again and I was dead.


So yeah I l played late again. Another night with hardly any sleep, thanks to this game.

look for one of the tall hats and shoot at the very top, dead eye 1 is helpful too so you can place it tight

I had the same thing happen to me there, except I also had to fend off a bear that was feasting on a bighorn on the level below where I saw the cougar. I went from a friggin' bear to a cougar that I managed to shoot out of the air in mid-jump as it lunged towards me. Ridiculously intense.

that's how I got mine anyway.... has this cool sound when you hit it... like a "pooof!"


every other one I have attempted has been a headshot since plus I hate DEye 2 since it's hard to place
