Yeah I had the same horse for a while until, just now, I went to pick some flowers...you know, the manliest of activities...I turn around to find my horse dead on the ground. I watch as 2 guys run past firing at some other guy. I take it they were chasing a fugitive but was it necessary to shoot my horse?
I killed them. You don't mess with my horse.

Awesome, thanks! Now I know not to worry about most of what I have now, but it makes sense.

LOL, I'm sorry I just got a visual of how that went down. It's crazy the most realistic and random events that happen, I saved a whore and hogtied the harasser and took him around Two Crow, and just left him there, eventually I watched wolves come after him and eat him up.

I always manual save before I start screwing around anyway, so if it does auto save, it don't overwrite the manual save.
it also auto-saves when you use a deed to a horse or hitch a new found horse.

Ok...so I go to thieves landing and as I enter this chick is getting carried away by some guy. I shoot the guy and leave her on the ground because I then get shot by a bunch of other guys. But what's weird is that the frame rate dropped significantly, probably half of what it normally is. EXTREME LAG.
I managed to kill all the guys and freed her from the hogtie. After letting her go the frame rate returned to normal but wow, I haven't seen that kind of lag in SP at all.

RE: autosaves, I know an autosave comes up when you select a HORSE out of your satchel.. so be very careful what you do if you dont want stuff autosaving.

does anyone know if you can do some of the MP challenges in a private game?

I cant stand normal free roam.

my friend got ambushed by 5 other guys on horseback who had semi automatics and long range guns (all were 10-12 XP ranks) and he couldnt get away. Why is he spawning right in their face. It was disasterious.

did they not think this free roam XP mode out? it's flawed beyond belief.

Yea that has happened to me a few times, after about a minute it goes back to normal but def. kinda annoying considering it always happens in shootouts.

So how do you win a duel? My first 3 I won just fine by luck, the tutorial was up for a second. Now I can't even come close.

I think I have gotten lucky as well, I have not killed anyone in my duels I have disarmed them all. I have read on some sites that as soon as they reach for their gun you pull yours out and then the cross-hair will come up and you just go from there.

I found a Standardbred! FINALLY! It was literally just walking down the road in Tall Trees. I was in the middle of a story mission, but I didn't care. I broke out my lasso faster than I ever have before. There's been times before that I thought I got one only to have it be a dark brown horse, but this time I got the verification trophy. Freaking sweet.

Mother of God this thing is fast. The Saddler and Hungarian should be listed as Fast, like they are, but this thing should be listed as Very Fast.

Every time I see a whore asking for a ride, they try and steal my horse and I end up blowing their head off. So every time I see one asking for help, I hogtie them, put them on my horse and bring 'em back to town and cut 'em loose.

Also, this one time I didn't feel like being a nice guy, I saw a lady being carried away by some guy. So I shot the guy, picked up the lady and dropped her in a lake.

How do you instigate duels or do they just happen randomly?

To the poster who was getting attacked at Thieves landing maybe it's because your honor is high and that place is full of crooks and thieves?

I've noticed that as i am playing through as a bad guy the prices at the shops in Thieves landing are 2 to 3 times better than in Armadillo. I can buy the most expensive horse for $750 where it costs 2k or more in Armadillo.

yeah, as far as prices, i got better deals in ARMADILLO where the wolves are closer, than in Thieve's Landing. I think that place is a big rig off, hence the name.

I remember getting $3-4 dollars MORE in Armadillo on all of the wolf parts than In Theives. In bulk, when you have 50+ animals, that comes out to $400-500 more dollars in a sell transaction
