    Re: Red Dead Redemption

I played RDR all the way through 4-5 times and never got bored. If the sequel includes those sorta things mentioned above I'll probably spend 200-300 hours with it and play it for 5+ years. I'm still playing RDR almost four years later so I don't think it's a stretch to say that.

I completed the main story some time ago. I haven't even begun to try to unlock every article of clothing though, lol. So in that regard, I'm not "done" yet.

But---- I don't care for playing as Jack.

Thankfully, I loved the game enough to go back through again and stop short of the end, then accomplished all the side stuff as John before finishing.

I should start up Nightmare (I got both in one) as it would feel like a new game with new missions and such..

Actually, I forgot all about that. I own it but have never played it. Not a big zombie guy, but maybe it's worth a shot.

I haven't done any of those either. I'm down but not sure when I'll be online next.

                        Re: Red Dead Redemption

Did you guys ever have any self-made minigames you made up for this game to keep it fresh and fun? Like shooting cacti from a moving train? Or horse river fjording or any random ideas of that nature?

My brothers and I created our own scenario, where we'd take turns starting off in the Blackwater saloon, put the 2Pac/James Brown mashup from Django on as background, then begin rampaging. The winner was the first person who could stay alive through the entire track (without hiding out for an extended period of time as a means of outlasting).

I always felt GTA and RDR had potential for interesting self-made side challenges like that but I was interested if others had already thought of a few.

I really need to start another play-through. The only recent games that I've gotten any enjoyment out of are AC4, NHL'14, and Don't Starve. Nothing beats RDR.

Out of curiosity, if a new RDR were revealed for next gen, what would you guys expect of it? If there were a RDR wishlist, what may it contain?

For starters, I think I'd like to be able to better interact with the water. Whether that mean fjording with animals, rafting, canoeing, fishing, etc. I feel as though there'd be a good chance at such an inclusion, with GTA V's water breakthrough (realistic waves, swimming, underwater treasures).

Is it too late to play it? Thought about picking it up. Or should I just wait for the sequel?

I didn't buy Red Dead Redemption for a couple years after release. Still felt incredible playing through. In contrast, the sequel hasn't even been officially announced, so that could be a long wait.
