For starters, I think I'd like to be able to better interact with the water. Whether that mean fjording with animals, rafting, canoeing, fishing, etc. I feel as though there'd be a good chance at such an inclusion, with GTA V's water breakthrough (realistic waves, swimming, underwater treasures).
            Definitely water.
I'd also prefer they stayed away from the newer technology they introduced near the end of the game.
            I hated using the Luger.

-What I want is a truly dynamic world where every action has a reaction.
Every NPC should have their own personality and life. I should be able to watch a blacksmith work all day and then ride back to his home to have supper with his wife and kids.
If I mess with his family, or kill him, then the NPC's in his life should be affected changing the world forever.

            - If I walk into a small town and murder everyone, unless someone witnessed it and got away, nobody should know I did it and therefore no warrant for my arrest.
            My reputation should stay as-is.

            - Invite multiple friends to my world even if I'm not logged in.
The changes they make affect my world as well.

            - World moves on even if I'm not logged in. Similar to Animal Crossings, if I don't log in for months there should be significant changes to the world.

We know the story is going to rock. But I'd like a little more playability once I've completed the mission. And hey, maybe there isn't even an end game?
Maybe it's just a series of short missions? Maybe certain missions are only opened if you've completed certain tasks or engaged in specific behavior.
I never played Skyrim, but I've heard enough about it's open world that I'd love to see a Western adopt something similar.
Perhaps the Pinkertons come calling, wanting to hire you if you've shown a propensity to capturing criminals.

A huge, open-ended, dynamic Western world would be a dream come true.

That's one of the things I've battled with the most when thinking of the next RDR. I loved Blackwater for its contrast, how it seemed to showcase the bridge to modern technology and civilization. The true west was incredible in Red Dead, but I loved the variety that came with the cobblestone streets, legit hotels with electricity, and movie theatre of Blackwater. I thought it was a wonderful setting and I'd miss it if something like that didn't exist in the next iteration.

Meanwhile, I'd like all buildings and houses capable of being entered. Part of the draw of Redemption came with how nearly every nook and cranny was searchable. It was just a bummer when we came across the odd house here and there that had a locked door and impenetrable windows.

I'd also like to get closer to the ability of destroying all of which can be destroyed. So if we enter a house and they have a piano 1) It'd be cool to be able to positively interact with it (a piano mini-game or cut-scene) but 2) It'd be nice to be able to damage or destroy that piano and not have it be permanently stuck as being a solid piece of the graphical environment.

I also think it'd be nice to have the ability to sit. I'm not sure if there'd be a practical use for it, but sometimes I just wanted to chill and take in the environment, whether sitting on the ground, a log, at the dinner table, or with my feet dangling off the edge of a cliff.

                RDR Wishlist huh:

Set 10-20 years after the Civil War.
Native American tribes - trading, alliances/enemies
                Stagecoach/train robberies
                Bigger towns with more bustle
Massive amounts of customization for character and weapons (thinking ivory handled Colts)
Some type of celebrity/"Road to Glory" character tree that would give you a reputation and fame (good or bad) - it would make traveling to new towns very interesting especially if you had knocked off a train and word got to the town before you did.

Is there a link that's been posted with confirmation of a new, next gen RDR coming or in the works?

Or maybe there is no, next installment coming?

From what I've been able to find thus far, there's only been a few links speculating that a new RDR could be announced, or has a good chance of being announced: http://www.vg247.com/2014/01/27/new-...a-2014-launch/

I believe there was a post on this thread that linked to information suggesting that a next-gen RDR could be shown at this years E3 convention.
I really hope so. That's the one game above all others that will make me jump into next-gen.

A new RDR would be a game that could make me get a PS4/X1, I haven't even beaten RDR yet (about halfway through. I'll get it done eventually...) Same with a new fallout.

RDR was such a beautiful game on current gen, I can't imagine how much more it can be pushed on next gen!

I dived back into RDR today. It reminded me of a shortcoming I had with GTA V. I'm assuming it has to do with GTA V's size and depth in so many other areas, but I like RDR's ground texture and foliage coverage. I was bummed to see GTA's hills mostly being composed of flat graphics with no depth.

Sidenote, if there's a new RDR, I'd like for the mountainous regions to remain. Further, I'd like if the snow had depth in locations (like GTA's did in its opening scene). It'd be fun to see the main character or horse high stepping through these regions, while maybe snow shoes could come into play.

Just watched Tombstone (yet again!) and it put me in the mood for some RDR.

Now, continuing on as Jack, I've decided to be an outlaw. Cops killed my dad, so I'm riding into towns and taking out as many cops as I can before leaving, lol.

Then I attempt to find a hideout and try to fend off the bounty hunters. What fun!

Yeah, I'm having a blast going back and playing this game again as well. I'm in Mexico, and it's a lot more enjoyable than I remember. I think not knowing the "lay of the land" deterred me from enjoying Mexico the first time. I got accustomed to the first location. This time, I'm admiring everything about Mexico. Just finished with Landon Rickets.
