There is also an issue with ARMA 2 AI that will cause zombies to clip through buildings, alpha or no. Before you start saying that the BI folks should have put more into the AI it basically took a supercomputer in 2009 to run this game because of the AI.

I am definitely homesick now that I'm going to be missing out on this ARMA night. We need to set something up for this weekend if peeps are available.

          Re: ArmA 2 (PC, 360, PS3)

          2 things this Thursday morning.

          1) I had some great ARMA 2 missions last night. I completed TWO, yes I said that right TWO missions back to back. That is a feat in itself! I was extremely pumped!

          2) I fought and fought and fought trying to get Day Z to work. I still have not been able to get it to work.

First, I installed Day Z and JayARMA2Lib from Six updater. I then logged into a server and it goes to load, after a few second it kicks me out and says "You were kicked from server: (Corrupt Memory#1)"

Next, I started looking online at what the issue could be and I found this.
          http://www.tacticalgamer.com/arma-so...y-1-error.html

So after figuring out it is the JayARMA2Lib mod that is causing the issue and I needed to find the new version. So I did the first step of going to the Six homepage, then communities, then to the Tact Bravo link. Then I downloaded the other JayARMA2Lib files and tried joining a server again. I was then hit with the same issue.

So I then deleted both Day Z and JayARMA2Lib files. Then I went to each new download links separate from the Six update and downloaded the newest of each. I then went and tried again, and received same issue of "Corrupt Memory #1".

So now I am stuck not sure how to fix this issue. I am dieing to get into some Day Z and sat down last night with the Turtle Beaches on, couple beers, and lights off ready to just role play my way into a zombie apocalypse.

If you guys know anyway to get this to work or find some research on a fix please help me out!

Not sure on how to install it through Six updater Phobia, but this is how I did it without using Six.

              Re: ArmA 2 (PC, 360, PS3)

I'm really surprised to see some people on OS are really into Arma 2. It's refreshing to know that their are other people out there who are like me in the sense that they like to play military sims in a casual way. Sometimes, trying to play with other mil-sim fanatics can be exhausting.

But anywho, in order to get Day Z installed (or any mod, including ACE 2) using Six Updater, follow these simple steps:

              - Locate one of the official Day Z servers in the Six Updater server browser. Right-click on the server and select 'Install or Update Mods'

              - The Six Updater should automatically add it as a dynamic preset. It will then start to download to your local Arma 2 folder all of the mods that the server requires. So, for example, when selecting a Day Z server using Six Updater, not only will it download the version of Day Z that the server uses, but it will also download the updated versions of the core libraries such as CBA and Jay2aramlib.

              - Once the mod is installed, I recommend using the Arma 2 launcher (http://arma2.paro-technology.com). This helpful little tool makes it extremely easy to manage all of your installed mods and works like a charm with the Steam version of Arma 2. It even allows you to create special mod groups. For instance, I have a mod group in my Arma 2 launcher labeled 'Day Z' that has all the required mods to play the game underneath. When I want to play the Day Z mod, it is as simple as me clicking the 'Day Z' check box in my Arma 2 launcher. There is no need to muck around with custom shortcuts and command line switches.

That's all that's needed. Just one word of advice. Make sure your update you Battle Eye client. I waited 30 minutes to get into a game last night only to be kicked within 5 minutes because my Battle Eye client is out of date.

              Good Luck, and happy hunting!

Thanks a bunch Sand, I was basically running to many mods that didn't need to be judging by this video. I was running this list.

                -nosplash -mod=@CBA;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2;@JayARMA2Lib;@DayZ

Going to switch around my start parameters and just start DayZ to see if that corrects the issue. I know the JayARMALib mod is the issue, but I thought it HAD to be run with DayZ.

@Nick - I understand how to use Six and start parameters. That is not the issue, it is the JayARMA2Lib new version. It is causing a conflict with battleye and Six is updating to it automatically while saying the other versions are "incompatible". Read that link I posted couple post ago on the Tact Server forums. Same issue.

Here is some excerpts (these were posted 4/4/2012)
So this is just a quick heads up for all you TGer's and guests out there. If you recently (within the last few weeks), kept on getting kicked off a server by battleye (specifically our Bravo server), with something along the lines of this message: "battleye: kicked due to corrupt memory #1". here's what's up:

The issue is with the Jayarma2lib addon. So to things to check are:

                1. Make sure that you have the Beta checked to "on" from Six Updater

                2. Go to your Arma folder and delete the "@Jayarma2lib" folder. then Replace it with the current version. make sure you either reinstall acre, or place a file (JayArma2Extension.dll), into the @jayarma2lib folder.

I hope this helps you all... if not... PM and I'll see what I can do to help
I am not sure this will fix things, but if it does that will be another thing we can try Thank you for jumping in Shoomfie

Because Bravo server is running the beta, you will have to have Jayarma2lib_new

Assuming six is used to update, firstly you need to to try to untick and tick beta at the top. This should give you the jayarma2lib_new in your mods at Bravo preset.

If that is not the case then it usually helps to delete the preset and then go to the homepage tab. Under six's logo, click on communities, scroll down and you will see Tactical gamer. Click on the link and this should create a new preset for Bravo which will have the appropriate files in.
Yes, Battleye has kicked you from the server if you aren't running the Extention/beta for the Bravo server. At the top mid-left of Sixupdater make sure there is a check mark in that box and then go to the Game Profile and make sure there is a check mark in the Beta box as well.

You can delete the @Jayarma2lib file in your game folder, but the reason it is Black in your profile, is because Six already sees it as incompatible with the Extention/beta, and so is not reading it anyway.

In your Bravo preset the @Jayarma2lib_new should have a green tile or marker in front of it, indicating, this is the file it will use. @Acre and @Jayarma2lib_new are available for download in the Mods listing right in Sixupdater. There is no need to provide another download link.

If you have been experiencing problems along these lines simply keep putting the check mark in the above boxes and areas I covered until Six initializes and resets. Sometimes, after an update from Sixupdater, you might be affected by some crosswire effects like this.

Also, make sure you have A2 OA CombinedArms (forced) in the profile box located both in the Home area and the Preset area of Sixupdater, located near top center.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have to give it a try tonight. Lately, I have been having crazy issues with both Jay2armalib and CBA. I think I just might blow away my Arma 2 install and reinstall it.

I see that the forum quote is from TG. Do you play often on TG servers? It really is a great gaming community, especially for Arma 2 fans.

I use to a lot a year or more ago. I just got tired of the HUGE missions that took literally 6+ hours to complete. Recently I just been getting more into trying to get a good group of buddies from OS to do coop with. Now that Day Z has come out and such a cool concept, I see it only getting better with each update. So I am going to be dumping a lot of time into it.

www.armaholic.com is a great resource for all arma 2 mods.

For Day Z, Sandman posted a video a few posts up which shows how to manually install it. Or, you can use a little app called six updater to auto download. I described how it works a few posts up.

Played some Day Z tonight!! Oh WOW!!!

My first night spent in Day Z was one to remember. I spawned and it was night time, what a hell of a way to get thrown in the deep end and learn to swim quick. I sneak my way in the dark with no flash light and then I hear it. A zombie charging me, I am whipping left and right trying to locate some kind of silhouette in the pitch black. Then he comes into view right in my face, I let out 3 gunshots in his chest, dropping him at my feet. Then all hell breaks loose, they start coming from everywhere. I am unloading round after round into a good 6 or 7 of them. After the fire fight was over, I start calling for people to try and link up with.

I see a flare off in the distance and asked "Who is near the flare, would you like to team up". I get back "That is me sure". Remember it is still pitch black, so I start running for this flare, as I round the corner and make my way to the middle of where the flare is. I see this body of a guy laying in the flickering light. My first thought was "damn they got him". So I start searching his body, then BOOM a round catches me in my back. I spin around quickly and locate a Bandit laying in the grass. I unload a entire clip, snap snap snap snap snap....killing him instantly. I then move over to search his body but all he had was ammo. I take what I can but I am hurt, bleeding out with no bandages.

At this point I know I got to find medical supplies and fast. So I grab the flare and just take off running for a city. I am fading in and out and shaking with pain. I managed to survive a LONG trek to a city under very poor conditions. Then right as I hit the city limit sign, I drop due to blood loss and die in the middle of the street.

***A total of about 1-1/2 hours***

Not to bad for being thrown into the fire in the middle of the night lol. Game is VERY kickass though!!!

Just for reference those bottom 2 cities Cherno and Elektro are some of the more populated areas by players. They also are right next to each other on the map but it takes about 5-7 minutes to run from one to the other. Now you can imagine how long it takes to run to some of the other locations in the world.

Since you spawn with no map or compass its real easy to get lost. I managed to run in one direction for about 20 minutes and reached the end of the map. No clue where I am.
Look at what I spent my boring Friday at work doing. I took Sandman's map link and made my own personal one to throw on my desk so I won't be lost(as much). I also lamented it so I can use a dry erase marker on it to mark my progress!
