    Anybody try Red Orchestra?
If so, is it still an "on the rails" game. I love how in Arma.....they give you the objective and pretty much let you go at it. If something doesn't go as planned (such as the sniper in the early map) it just makes thing harder for you and your allies...but the game continues. We need more of that in games.

If yall have not done so yet. I would highly HIGHLY recommend getting the ACE2 mod. It really enhances the experience by a large margin and don't realize what you are missing out on until you have it in. Plus the A.I. is more realistic outside of the incredible sound effects.

I go over completely how to install it in post #87

      Will do..thanks!

Another thing I love with this game....having Maddox as your transport. Need a ride to a far of location...call in transport support and Maddox shows up with the UH helo!
Done with your mission....pop smoke and call in the coordinates for a pickup!

Loving ARMA II. Got Arrowhead today also. Really struggling getting back into PC controls after a few years of consoles only. Hope it comes back before B3 drops.

Its not perfect as there some glitches here and there but its really fun.

They're somewhat pissing me off now. I haven't delved that deep into this yet and I just saw an article stating that ARMA III is already in development. One of the highlights in the article was actual underwater missions ( can use seal teams and actually dive), and better vehicle representation.

I am. Arma 2, Warhammer and the DCS A-10 Warthog sim. Arma 2 with the ACE mod has recieved most of my time the last 3 weeks. I just create small seek and destroy missions in the editor. I don't even save them. I just preview the mission and when I'm done, I just make a new one. The possibilities seem endless. I'm slowly but surely learning how to use it. I've been having fun with a Fallujah map & Delta Force units I downloaded. Great game!

Edit: Hey guys, this is a video posted yesterday to a channel I sub to. It's almost two hours long, but it shows the progression of time in the game. The mission starts at dawn, a little before sunrise and you get to see how different the game plays during night and day. It's a downloadable mission from Armaholic. You are a lone BAF solider lost on a battlefield.

I am back in the PC saddle and been sinking some time into ARMA 2 lately. Completed two missions last night. INTENSE stuff, and extremely rewarding when you manage to survive hell and complete a mission.

Anyone down for some ARMA 2 this weekend?

                  Re: ArmA 2 (PC, 360, PS3)

Just updated my gaming computer so I would love to play some Arma 2, just need to a) reinstall it and b) refamilarize myself with real military combat after playing BF3

Found this mod called Day Z which is Arma 2 with the Zombie Apocolypse. . Looks awesome and could be great if we could get some people to try it out.

                  <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/A7Q8c8jnL3s?version=3&feature=player_detailpage">< param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/A7Q8c8jnL3s?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>

Stat about the mod: ArmA II: DayZ currently makes up for two-thirds of the entire ArmA II: Combined Operations population playing worldwide.

Too bad I only have the base Arma 2. I really need to find CO for cheap.

Details/Installation instructions for the mod: http://www.serellan.com/forums/index...z-arma-ii-mod/

No worries, we will make it happen. I spent a good chunk of Sunday trying to get Day Z launching and when I finally had it it seemed an update was released. I used a program called Six to update the files I needed (can be used with pretty much all mods for the game) and then just launched the game through Steam and it loaded fine for me.

You'll have to guide me around on some coop, only really played the single player as my old computer was a chugger. Looking forward to playing though, love this game.

Franko are you on Steam? If so be sure to add Phobia and me so we can do some coop. Day Z only gets better with a group.

What is the Day Z mod exactly like? Is it like a continuous style or is there "missions? Judging from the video is almost appears what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was intended to be but never lived up to. Living and surviving in this waste land.

Also I know you on the other side of the world, so when is a good time for us to get in some coop. There is a couple missions on the ACE mod that I want to do. This is the first one we should take on.

                                Mission: Hearts and Minds

Objective: A small special forces group (4 men) is dropped in by little bird about 2 mile from target. You must rendezvous with a small militia force that wants to help out. The team then needs to hit a AA station to remove the AA capabilities from the enemy. This then opens up air support for your squad which then must assault a small village under close air support.

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_ZuAa7ntJWY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

My last attempt at this was pretty epic. We made our way to the militia and started our trek towards the AA station. We had to cross a small section of forest that ran down a hill towards a road. A couple pops and snaps later from rifle fire and all hell broke out. MG fire and tracers were flying everywhere, laying low behind trees popping 203 rounds down on the road trying to soften the enemy force. Tossing smoke out to give our team some cover so we could make a push through these guys. It turned into a slug fest which lasted 10 min with hardly any forward movement. Finally while attempting to stand up and move down some I got clipped with a round.

We must of encountered one of the "random" patrols! It was sick! I think if we had a squad of 4 guys from OS we could finish missions like this. While experience some crazy water cooler moments.
