    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

So I restarted a few months ago on Master difficulty as a rogue; amazing. Its so broken but so much fun. Havent scratched the main storyline so there are zero dragons roaming around. Got my sneak to 100 and that pretty much all you need with a dagger.

Tried the same thing with a warrior on master level...got demolished. Anyone have any tips on how to survive on master as a class designed to tank? I die so fast and do no damage. Warriors need a x15 strike too lol.

I want XBL for this DLC... sounds really fun.

I know about the DLC for Oblivion and most of them were random dungeons or a new weapon (only real DLC was Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles).

I also want Werewolves to not be completely bare bones. They're really underdeveloped in the original game, but I guess that was also a plan to make people want to buy this DLC :P

Can't wait for the dlc! On my vampire/assassin/thief character, I made it my goal to rob all of the Jarls, and their households in Skyrim. It was my way of giving back to the poor and oppressed serfs in Skyrim. Of course, I kept everything I stole. It was just dedicated to the poor, not for them.

Since I have a gaming PC, I'm thinking about buying another copy and playing on PC for the mods. If I were to do that, where do I find the best mods and how do I use them?

Nexus Mod Manager and Steam are the easiest to use

Download the manager and choose the "Download with Manager" option for whatever mod you want, if it has that option (not all of them do).

Are the Steam Workshop mods for Skyrim the same as they would be if I went to Nexus? Trying to figure out if there is any difference, and if there is can you mix and match mods from Steam Workshop and Nexus?

It also depends on your definition of best mods. Nexus takes down a lot of stuff for crappy reasons so you may want to look in other places as well.

You can mix and match sure. I think the way the Workshop works though is that whenever an author updates their mod, it automatically updates your game. I'm not sure about that though, but I think that's what I read somewhere. The problem with that of course, is compatibility. It might interfere with another mod you're using and you might not be ready to update it just yet.

Also, there are a lot of mods on Nexus that mod authors don't upload to Steam, and vice versa. I pretty much use Nexus and I see a lot of mods that the author refuses to deal with the Workshop.

                        Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

should i get the game for xbox or pc?

i care mostly abt graphics for that matter. the question is will i be to play the game on my lap top on graphic settings which look better then the xbox version.

maybe somebody has experience with a similar configuration, mine is:

                        CPU: Core i5-2450M 2.5Ghz
                        GFX: GeForce GT 630M (2GB)
                        RAM: 4GB

or maybe easier, does skyrim a game with high hardware requirments?

(yes i went to several "can i run the game" pages and my system meets the recommended requirements)

                          Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

You will be fine. I run on ultra (shadows at medium) on my laptop with a GT555m (fps at around 40-50) your card is newer so you are good to go. I have heard that performance is quite reliant on CPU speed though, so make sure to use something like game booster to make the best use of it.

Skyrim was very demanding at launch but after a couple of patches/driver updates most people experienced a huge leap. My fps has nearly doubled since the launch.

                          Have fun!

Alright, fellas. I ordered the parts and my computer will be built early next week, so I've joined the PC Gaming Master Race.

I've found a lot of mods I'm going to download for sure, but is there a good house decorating one out there?

so i got the game for pc today and im really having some performance issues. it autodetected that my lap top would manage high settings so i go ahead and end up getting 15 to 20 fps... then i chance them to medium and still im not getting more than 22 to 30.

is that accpetable for my hardware or is smth going wrong? i mean you are playing on ultra?? your gpu should be maybe slightly better than mine (eventho older) but nothing that would explain such a difference imo..

anybody got an idea if smth is wrong or if its just normal to got such a performance with my hardware.. i mean nothing wrong with playing it on medium settings just the uncertanty that it could maybe run much better is destroying it for me.

can you post your compelete specs?

My sweetie and I each have performance laptops that are less than two years old. I can only play Skyrim on medium settings or I get slowdown, and she can only play on low. Bethesda games are know for their performance issues, Fallout New Vegas was even worse. There are performance mods you can download.
