Had an encounter with some police, today.

I had an oppurtunity to free, or kill the prisoner. I chose free, and had to fight and like, 5 guards.

Some had magic, etc. Needless to say, I got my bum kicked.

I am too. I'm one shoting ordinary enemies left and right while using the bow in sneak mode.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'm using an Imperial as well as it's suited for my style of play (I'm mostly a sword guy but I like to use magic as well). I'm using the bow & arrow more than I ever have in a ES game...comes in quite handy esp for killing dragons.

This game is Amazing!!....I'm speaking to the choir I"m sure at this point, but really there is almost too much to do in this game as main quests, sidequests, dungeon looting are all really fun activities.

My character is a wood elf named Borr Rhordas and he has a mohawk because he has swagger. But seriously, being a stealth archer is one of the more cooler gameplay experiences I've ever had in a game especially in caves and dungeons where you're able to go through and clear a whole area without being spotted. Out in the open it's fun too, but it can become dicey for me when my enemies come close and the blow becomes less effective, for that I run with a 1H weapon and magic which works well against bandits and low level enemies, but I"m feeling it might become less effective against tougher enemies.

Now to potential spoiler-related talk, which might be minor, major, or not even a spoiler, just want to stay on the safe side.

              Spoiler

The thing I like about this game is you really have to play to your characters strengths because it's hard to create a jack of all trades character.

Quick question, anyone having success with pickpocketing at say a level 20 because I'll sneak up on someone, try to pickpocket a light and cheap item and they still catch me even though the reticule says I'm hidden...am I missing something?

Light and cheap doesn't always mean easy to steal, maybe they are using that item or wearing it. On the bottom of the window there is a chance of success %. My character started off pickpocketing at level 25 and I was able to pickpockets pretty decently off the start. I just couldn't lift things that were equiped basically (well I could but at like a 10% success rate)

Damn, these Sabre cats kick my butt every time. There is almost no way to avoid the confrontations either. At least you can avoid Giants. Maybe I'm exploring places I shouldn't be yet.

Loving the amount and variety of quests so far. Maybe its due to being the first play-through but it seems a lot more organic than Oblivion. In some cases it seems like you may not even get some quest unless you pursue a specific conversation topic. In Oblivion you'd basically get the quest as soon as you talk to somebody.

I also got some quests the second time I visited an area. Don't want to spoil anything but basically when I went somewhere the first time there was nothing and when I went back there was an opportunity to start a quest.

Definitely. This is similar to how it worked in Fallout 3 which I loved. The only major difference is that Fallout 3 required a specific lockpicking level to even attempt some locks. Skyrim lets you attempt any lock but those above your skill level are extremely difficult if not impossible.

It's the same. It's how all Bethesda games are.
