Just picked this up based on all the good things people said about it here. I stayed away because of all the mediocre reviews when it came out. Hope you guys are right.

I did the same earlier this week. I didn't read any reviews, but a lot of impressions in this thread. And like you, I see a lot of reviews mentioned that weren't in favor of the game, yet user impressions are overall solid.

Ive played the game for maybe 5-6 hours so far. I have no clue how far I am into the story, because I've spent so much time doing side stuff. This game is truly awesome. I'm glad I read this thread and decided to pick it up. I will get many, many hours with this game and I can't wait to keep playing it.

PlayStation really has amazing exclusives. Although Xbox One X is a superior console to the PS4 Pro, I can't imagine my video gaming life NOT having a PS4 with all the great games it has. This game definitely falls into that category of awesome.

Make sure you play Spiderman next then, it is truly amazing. I poured many hours into that game, and I've yet to try any of the DLC.

With no Bears football today, I'm going to spend quite a bit of time playing Days Gone. Can't wait

                  Re: Days Gone

What exactly was said in the reviews that rated this game either mediocre or even poor? I am seriously loving this game, I can't stop playing it lol. I don't want to post where I'm at in the story, because I really don't want to know how far I am. As I posted earlier, I'm going out of my way to do as many side things as I can, such as clearing nests and taking down marauder camps. At this point, I have some pretty good guns and I've upgraded my bike quite a bit. I've run into a few hordes, but I still don't feel as if I'm ready to take on one of those.

But yea, I'm having way too much fun playing this game. I'm digging the story as well.

                    Re: Days Gone

Been reading this thread for a few weeks now and I am intrigued about this game. Waiting for a price drop maybe around the holidays but I have a few questions. What happens when you die in this game? If you die just doing side missions or main story stuff do you lose anything that you may have picked up along the way? What happens when you die trying to eliminate hoardes? Do you just re load and start all over with said mission or are there check points or saves in the middle of any of these missions? Thanks

Save often so you can make sure you don't lose crafting materials along the way.

But the game is forgiving when it comes to dying.

Don't even think about Hordes right now.....I finally eliminated my first one over this past weekend and it is work!!!

lol, the videos I have watched of people eliminating them is nuts. Looks tense as hell. I will be on board at some point with this game , just trying to finish some other games to create some time to really get into this one. Thank you for the reply.

The main thing, outside of bugs (which have been patched out) was that it was very repetitive, which most open world games are...at least to me. I'm enjoying the game and story, bought it on the impressions in this thread, but can understand the repeat sentiment. Lots of stop this guy, find this person, deliver this, etc.

Granted, I hold everything to the lofty standard of Witcher 3, and generally hate open world games without a strong narrative hook. Which Days Gone has. [emoji39]

I was at the community college looking for a fuse and all of a sudden, a horde spawned with me right smack dab in the middle of them. Instant death. All I could do was stare at the screen and laugh. Worst luck ever! 😖
