Saw a nice example of the witness and investigation system.

Had to steal an oil tank and decided to wear a mask for the deed.

Killed one guy. Someone ran off after witnessing it. Used that moment to steal the oil tank and rush away.

As I'm zooming through the hills, I notice three horses with riders galloping toward me. I quickly identify them as lawmen.

Immediately my mask comes off, and the lawmen rush past me to the location the crime was committed.

They didn't know the crime. They didn't know I had committed one. Thought that was great. By the time they got to the location, I was long gone.

I had a weird one once that actually didn't help me.

I hogtied an O'Driscoll and let him get crushed by a train, then I boarded the train and people on there said I wasn't allowed on and initiated a shootout. I killed two of them and the train halted, so I took my horse and rode off. I cannot remember if I was wearing a mask.

I had lawmen after me the same kind of way, and I was able to "avoid" them by having the Wanted level drain all the way down. Because my interest got the best of me, I turned around to see if they were still looking for somebody. I saw one of them and was able to greet myself, and as I passed by for a second whiparound again for some stupid reason, one of the three lawmen goes: "Hey, I knew you looked familiar!" Boom, Wanted level back up and a bounty for $45 appeared.

Basically, I could have avoided it completely I'm sure... but I just had to go back and see how they would react. And of course the autosave is initiated the moment that Wanted icon popped up again.

Well, I lost my horse last night in an ambush. Was traveling at night and heard someone calling for help. Went to scope it out and this hillbilly gang came out of the woods and ambushed the hell out of me. It was a setup. I died before I got the chance to revive my horse. Amazing how sad it makes you feel when you lose your horse. Our bonding level was maxed out. Now I have to do it all over again with another one.

My issue was it was dark and by the time I actually saw where he was it was too late.

Found the Elite Arabian, last night. I've had the same horse since the beginning, so it was hard to move on from her. What I did was, I renamed her at the stables and then gave the Arabian the name I had been using. Win-win. Lol!

Is that the one by the trapper where the legendary animal territory is (maybe a deer?).

If so, that was my first shot of Saint Denis myself. I still haven't been close to over there yet.

I was exploring up near the legendary beaver location last night when I was attacked on sight by a bunch of guys. Ended up in a huge gun battle. Killing maybe 30 guys or so. I lost honor for every single kill. I’m not sure why I’m losing honor if I’m minding my own business and I’m attacked on sight.

I do stop and see what they have to say sometimes because curiosity gets the best of me... but most of them time I'll just "blind 'em with ***" because I'm on my way to a mission and don't feel like getting ambushed or dealing with their ****.

Same. I learned that from RDR1 when a supposed "damsel in distress" lured me in before hijacking my horse. Never again.

That whole system is kind of screwed up. Another thing I can't stand is to be going through town and get called out by someone for no reason. If I fight them, all of a sudden I'M the bad guy. For defending myself?? The logic really needs patched.
