I’m completely blown away with this game. Anyone that’s critical of this game, while I know it’s not perfect, is just trying to be hip and go against the majority. I think it’s the most polished game I’ve ever played.

It’s definitely one of the better games I’ve ever played. I understand RD1 was amazing but this blows it out of the water for me. The world is much more alive and I’m enjoying the story on top of that.

Is there a separate thread for Red Dead Online? I’m really looking forward to the online community and private serges here at OS. Playing with randoms is not something I’m interested in.

I’d really like to get into role-playing online. I’ve checkout out some online communities with it and seems pretty interesting and up my alley.

I had my 1st horse die which from reading this thread I think was my pre order horse as it appeared in the stable for 0$. Luckily it was the first mission that I had done with it so we hadn't bonded yet and it was kinda ugly. This guy says he needs help so I stop and he throws me to the ground when I help him get on the horse. I'm not gonna stand for that so I pull out my gun and start firing. I of course miss him and kill my horse and the guy is still alive.

I just killed a legendary beaver, but I have no idea what to do with it's legendary pelt.

I went to the fence and got the trinkit crafted from the tooth. The trapper doesn't have anything for a legendary beaver pelt, just a perfect pelt.

Oftentimes, the legendary pelt alone isn't enough to craft items. You need other perfect pelts from normal animals to make like 99% of the items. And the ones you sell to the trapper don't count towards the ones you need to upgrade camp. It's... a lot of hunting, man.


Yes, it's frustrating.


As an aside, what's the point of having 3 tiers of animal pelts when anything less than perfect is basically penny scraps?

I'll just put it out there that the soundtrack of RDR1 is impossible to top, and is probably why people aren't getting as good of a vibe in RDR2. The RDR1 story was told in a harsher, bleaker way, you got the sense that the characters in the game were really struggling and were having a hard time getting by.

It's one of the only aspects of RDR2 that has me a little disappointed, I believe Rockstar wanted to leave the natural environment do the talking in the game this time around. The story is told in a more positive vibe, the characters seem more similar to the ones presented in a GTA game.

Trapper I used it to craft a hat. You just need a couple items to go along with it.

Yeah the hunting is beyond frustrating. I like the act of hunting but looking for a 3 star raccoon is just a time sink. My one complaint so far.

Yeah, the stupid 3 star raccoon is what I'm currently looking for. I also have this horrible feeling that I may have sold the Abalone Shell Fragment needed for the Bison Horn Talisman and there is only one in the entire game. There should be an easier way to keep track of what you need for crafting. I'd love to be able to tag materials like in Witcher 3 or Fallout 4.

Yup. Me too. I’m a beaver, badger and raccoon away from 3 different satchel upgrades.
