When sports writers use the term "video game numbers" when speaking of a good players particularly excellent stats. Something like "Clayton Kershaw has numbers that look like they're from a video game this season."
My gripe is... I still occasionally play sports video games and they're mostly nowhere near the cartoonish arcade style games of the past. The numbers in most sports video games these days are actually quite close to reality.
I dunno, I guess u can still skew a video game's difficulty to get astronomical stats but for the most part that silly line is a bit insulting to the games of today.
