The only beer I know besides NA beer that is 1 point is MGD 64, but that's only 2.8% abv..Miller lite is 96 calories and 4.2% abv. Coors light is 102 calories and 4.2% abv.

As for the beer question, I'm not sure I can help because I don't do weight watchers...but I will say this, if you're drinking to get a buzz and/or plan to drink a lot, it's better to just drink regular beers as the alcohol content is higher. If you're just drinking a few while you hang out and want to watch calories of course light beer is a better call.

I just know when I drink on the weekend, I tend to drink over a long period of time and find I drink a lot more light beers cuz they're watery, and actually end up taking in more calories than simply drinking regular, full caloried and full tasting w/more alcohol beer.
We were talking about this earlier, how your better off drinking beer then pop. On strictly a calorie level.

Another thing you might interesting ODOGG

You burn nearly 1500 calories at rest during a day. The numbers on treadmills and ellipticals include this in the calories burned results.

So the work you actually think your doing maybe overstated.

Hmm...from what I've read...they may be actually understated because they only account for activity while on the device whereas you continue to burn calories at a higher rate for several hours after exercising.

The reason I bring this up is I asked around to various trainers whats the point of even walking on a treadmill at a slow pace for 15 minutes when it says you've burnt 43 calories...I mean that's nothing. And they referred me to the above. It may only be 43 calories then but your resting calorie burn goes up quite a bit for several hours after you're done.

Anyways, who knows really. I do know this, and I believe it, weight loss is 75% FOOD and only 25% exercise. But like anything else they work well in tandem, doing one without the other greatly hurts your chances.

Its easier to eat a calorie then burn one.

Alot of trainers dont have a clue either. The science is constantly changing. The big thing a few years ago was that muscle mass burns more calories at rest(exponentially more). That was the theory behind atkins diet, but the body adapts.

Yeah, a lot of it seems like guess work, I just try to do what's sensible. Work hard, eat sensible and when I cheat, do so in the most efficient way.

Yeah but realize this, if you're overweight it's probably because your metabolism isn't normal. So if they say 2100 calories for 5'11" 215 pounds then it's probably actually 1800 or something.

I finished yesterday at 1400 calories, had a livesmart for lunch and finished with subway and some tortilla chips for dinner.

For breakfast today i had half a subway (3") turkey sub with veggies, a couple of tortilla chips with bbq chicken and some oatmeal. So I'm at about 420 calories today so far.

                    Wake up everyone! :P

Pete - I get the Weight Loss Control Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal packs. I know..I know...better to get regular oatmeal but that stuff tastes awful to me. These packs are 170 calories and taste great, plus they are about perfect size to go with a piece of fruit or some toast.

I'm doing a good job of not eating within 3 hours before i go to bed. I'm waking up pretty hungry though. I'm on my 4th week doing this and it has become "normal" for me. In the past I was eating several servings of chips or cheez-its around 9:30 and going to bed at 10:30.

Another thing I'm not doing is eating up after my kids. That's a horrible habit I did, not all the time but sometimes. Say I got them cheeseburgers. I would finish up their half cheeseburgers after eating my food. I have 4 boys and only one eats all of his cheeseburger.

                          Do the math....lol
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Yeah it's funny you bring that up, we just were lectured about that cleaning up after the kids at our fat club meeting on Monday. Its those types of calories that def. do add up.

That's good to not eat too close to bed time I think. I eat about 8pm and go to bed at midnight, although sometimes I've eaten as late as 9:30 or so. Waking up hungry is a nice benefit too because you'll be more apt to eat a big breakfast.

Remember - Eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a Pauper!

ODogg, yeah I have the packets as well. I know it contains some sugar but regular oatmeal is nasty, I agree.
