So, boxing is going extremely well. If I could just get my cardio up, I'd be able to start looking for matches. I need to learn to pace myself, and it's hard for me not to throw every punch with 100% power.

Did a fitness aerobic class with one of my friends. Thought I could hang, which I did but got my *** kicked. Going to add it to regular routine.

Completed my first tough mudder this weekend. Tremendous fun. The course was 12 miles with 22 obstacles. You really don't even notice the mileage, or i didn't until the end when my calves started cramping. Highly recommend it for those of you interested in doing it.

I really want to do this in a year. I don't think I can hang with the weight my carrying right now but I know I will. 2013 fitness challenge

I wish my Tough Mudder wasn't so far away. I'm excited as hell, but we had to push it back to August of next year due to scheduling conflicts. Still, gives me extra time to train I suppose.

As of right now, i'm doing the Tough Mudder "Maybe Mudder" workout three times a week. Absolutely killer workout.

Do any of you guys use any supplements in regards to weight loss? I only have whey protein but I haven't used it as i've been more focused on weight loss then strength/muscle
I use the old school ECA stack (minus the asprin... only use that when I actually need to take it anyway). Ephedrine and caffeine are the way to go, and although ephedrine is not sold on its own anymore, you can still get it in otc asthma medicine (Bronkaid, Primatene, or the generic store brand primatene equivalent).

Just have to show them your ID and sign for it, since there is a max of like 6 packages you can buy a month (even if you were taking it everyday you wouldn't come close to exceeding this amount... its simply to prevent bulk purchases since ephedrine is one of the ingredients used to make meth).

Either way, I don't really agree with the calorie restriction over weight training to lose weight... calorie restriction will see results at first, but after a while your baseline metabolism will become lower, and as soon as you go back up to a normal calorie amount (and you will... because you can run at a deficit like that forever), you will gain fat back and will not be happy. Those "skinny fat" people suck

Weight training on the other hand will crank up your metabolism and result in fat loss thats sustainable, assuming you're not eating to bulk. Eat at maintainence (taking into account the extra calories your burning from the weight training) and it's very possible to gain muscle and lose weight, especially when you're just starting off. In fact, I'd say if you eat the right amount of calories, its almost impossible not to do both at the beginning.

If you want to lose fat in a way that is sustainable in the future, 100% proper weight training is the way to go over calorie restriction.

Yeah I went to a nutrition shop that just opened up across the street, guy was really knowledgable and advised me to try lipocor that has CLA and L carnitine you mentioned. Going to try that out and see how it goes.

Yeah the calorie thing I realized was not a good idea, but part of it just occurred naturally. I need to start waking up earlier for breakfast and bring a lunch with me to class.

So yeah, it's been at least two months since I checked in because I was in basic training and I went from 136 lbs to 136 lbs. However, I slimmed down and regularly exercise at least 3 times a week.

I just picked up a tub of Combat and ON Whey. I'm ready.

Yeah let me know how it goes. I get mine from bodybuilding . com. They have great prices and deals like buy 2 get 1 free. I use a lot of their own bodybuilding .com brand for l carnitine and Green tea. I use mrm's cla 1250. Obvious tough to tell how much this works but I've lost 60 pounds in 5 months and also gained noticible muscle.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I was wondering has anyone tried the Metrx Big 100 Colossal protein bars. I have been working out and trying to just eat better. BTW I'm 6'4" and 160 lbs in college. I have tried several mass gainers and protein shakes but they are just not worth the time for me.

I was wondering if anyone had gotten any results from these. I'm not looking to gain weight overnight or over a short time. I just want to know if this is a good after workout snack that is good for me.

I haven't tried it but has good reviews so it should be good as an after workout snack. If you are gaining muscle pretty much you gotta up your calorie intake, lift hard and rest. Also try to get 160 grams of protein a day with your weight. Not sure what your food budget is like but its attainable if you eat fish and chicken throughout the day. I eat about 160 grams of protein and i'm on a vegan diet so you should be able to do it.

Here's a website I frequent that has good info on building muscle: http://scoobysworkshop.com/bulking-u...-muscle/#step2

I had a couple friends who go by the rules he sets and have gained really good muscle. I been following losing weight and gaining muscle at the same time. It's been really tough but have been getting results.

I really need to go to the hospital sometime and get an MRI of my back. The pain I've had in it for over 4-years is just starting to kill me.
