I've been struggling, since working further from home. I'm trying to cut back and get more lean, but my diet isn't that great and I don't have much money to spend on buying groceries, right now... making it hard to buy healthy stuff.

I wish I had workout partner. None of my friends are really into fitness and It's hard to get self motivated, sometimes.. especially after working a 10 hour shift.
    That's the one.

The diet one is the most important part. If you got your diet down and didn't work out you'd be surprised how much weight you can lose. And in some weights and you'll be set. Let me know if you wanted the book.

I'm trying to shed as much as possible and also enjoy whatever else comes with it. I do have trouble staying focus in the AM, and usually don't wake up at work until noon.

In the beginning I'll be going with a eating schedule from 9AM - 1-2, give or take. I'm rolling with 2 english muffins for breakfast and a hefty sized lunch. I'll try and only water throughout the day, although I do have a little bottle of apple juice with my breakfast.

I will try to incorporate some home workouts at night. I'm thinking a variety of crunches and push-ups some days, while using dumbbells another. I get enough of a work out for my legs with the commute and the flight of stairs I run up and down while at work. I'll try and check in weekly and see how it is.
The one thing I'll say here is that you'll be doing yourself a disservice if you're eating window is in the morning and you're working out at night... the benefits of proper nutrition immediately (30ish minutes) before and after a workout are well documented.

imo, if you're going to put in the effort to 1) do IF, and 2) workout, it doesn't make sense to hinder your progress by neglecting something as simple as post workout nutrition, which is what your proposed schedule seems to do.

I'll have to adjust it then. I really haven't thought it out. I wasn't planning to work out yet, just get adjusted to the eating schedule first. I think I can work it to where I eat lunch and dinner, meaning 12:30/1 - 7.

Anyone besides Feared tried Muscle Pharmacy's Assault, yet ?

I finally broke down and purchased some last night. It ran me about $40, but it left a good first impression with me. I liked it a bit better than the original Jack3d or C4.. those two seem to mess with your central nervous system too much. The Assault really just put me in a better mindset and made me want to get through the workout. I wanted to keep going, but two weeks out of the gym set me back just a little. I had to go down on weight 5-10 lbs from what I usually do, but I figure I'll be back to normal by next weekend. Muscle memory is such an awesome thing.

The lady at GNC told me that they finally took Jack3d off the shelves and she showed me a reformulated and more concentrated version. I wasn't going to buy it anyways, but she did mention that most of the feedback she has received has been negative and most customers are experiencing a crash after workouts. I knew it would only be a matter of time, until they removed it from shelves. Especially once the military listed it as a banned substance.

I've been almost the same weight for exactly a year now. I'm 6'3" 225, but have a decent amount of muscle. I just need to get more dedicated to my diet and working out again and trim down a bit. I fell off the wagon when I took this new job working in Birmingham. I stopped working out much and doing almost no cardio. Today, I'm getting my mountain bike down and going to ride some days.. I just get bored with typical cardio in the gym.

Ok, I think I'm in trouble. Today is my bday, and for those that don't know, my wife owns and operates a CrossFit gym. It seems to be ingrained in the CrossFit culture to torture people on their birthday. She's already laid it out on her web site and facebook:

"Happy birthday to a wonderful husband and dad. Looking forward to punishing you tonight on your birthday wod. Come join the fun during the 5:00, 6:00 classes."

Great, and I ate like a Rhinoceros at lunch. This might be a "puker". If I know her, she'll probably also play nothing but peppy dance music the whole time, just bc she knows it irritates me.

Anyone ever think about eating one real meal a day and than like, if you get hungry, eat a little bit of peanut butter just to hold you over?

No, no, no.....not if you want to lose weight. You have to snack all day long and make your largest meal breakfast. Have 5-6 small meals and STAY ACTIVE. This will activate your metabolism, I promise. Never starve yourself. Malnourishing the body has other affects other than your weight.

To the contrary though, IF works well for wanting to lose weight. You are never malnourished. It is a matter of 2-3 days of getting used to the change in diet.

I have to agree with this, but I've never really thought about making my largest meal breakfast. Makes sense, but that's usually dinner for me.

Yeah, I'd never make breakfast my biggest meal.

It allows more time to burn those calories, but I can't eat a big meal in the morning unless its late morning and then that means its the weekend and that means sausage gravy or something else equally as decadent.

I'm just not a morning person so I have no energy to make a big breakfast, I just settle for the quick bowl of cereal. Plus I have all these recipes I know for dinner/lunch, not really breakfast but i'm gonna start making pancakes, eggs, or whatever more as i've been slacking this past week in regards to my diet.

The most I'll do for breakfast during the week is scramble a couple eggs and do a couple egg burritos. Especially good if I have leftover guacamole. Usually I stick with oatmeal, cottage cheese, or half of a bagel and banana.
