Hanging leg raises are pretty good. I wouldn't think they would bother your back.

I have no scale as i've been resorting to using my friends downstairs, granted it was the one at a grocery store and coming off a week of being kind of sick(which sucked cause I haven't been in a few months and just got into a workout routine) I've lost about albs in a week just by counting calories using an app on my iPhone.

I got a cheap scale at Wal Mart. They're near the hardware with some home improvement type stuff. I was almost a year without one.
Its a blessing and a curse for me. It helps keep me honest and from getting away from where I want to be. On the flipside I put more stock into that than simply looking at myself in the mirror.

In my last post I said how I had lost weight all the way down to 174, and somehow I let myself get down to 169 for about a week. I just didn't have it in me to eat a lot at that point.
But now I'm chugging along eating 4000 calories a day while lifting. I've been doing that for about 3 weeks now and while losing the weight was a slight setback, I'm already back up to 176 while surpassing all my previous lifting stats (which had hit a brick wall sometime during summer baseball). So really it seems to have been a blessing because it gave me time off of having to eat so much and now I have the drive to eat a lot again.
I am not sure what my goal weight is to get to by baseball season next spring, but I have 5-6 months until the season starts and I'm just working as hard as I can to get stronger, gain weight and also keep my speed with sprints.Comment

Surprisingly it doesn't fluctuate too much, but I'm already back to my pre-vacation weight.

I'll usually weigh myself two or three times a day. Once in the morning, once in the evening after dinner (yeah I know), and after I workout.
Surprisingly it doesn't fluctuate too much, but I'm already back to my pre-vacation weight.
