I used the Men's Health app for a while. It's pretty good, I just got a new phone and didn't feel like downloading it again (I used it more for exercise ideas than a full out tracking app but it's capable).

I'm like Holic, I peeked at the scales during the start-up of WW.

I'm down 4 lbs which is nice to see. All without exercise. This moring, I started to workout.

I've noticed the first two days I'm 10 or more points below my daily target goal. I know WW says to be at or near your daily target, but I've been full.

My motto is anything is better than nothing. It serves a purpose by enabling you to lift some weights. I prefer the old fashion bar and weights over machine assisted as it tends to work the twitch muscles more for stability. However for a birthday gift from the wife = priceless. Enjoy!!

Are you saying Weight Watchers wants you to use your daily allotment or points? I didn't know that. I just thought they didn't want you to go over.

                233.4 pounds

I'll be in the 220's soon... Have not been there in a very long time. Crazy to think I was 290 at one point in 2008, and have fluctuated between 270+ and 235 since then.

This time, it's for good. That whole thing about this being a lifestyle change? It's true.

210 by June and then it's time to get myself back in the 230 range through adding mass.
You're story sounds almost identical to mine.

The worst I ever got to was around 280 or 285. I was 265 on Jan 1 last year and got down to 210 by around November (you're moving at a much faster pace it sounds). Since then I've been eating the same but hitting the weights a little harder and I'm up to about 220 at this point. I'm really not looking to add any more weight on the scale, but I've gradually been seeing more and more muscle definition (and feeling stronger) as well as noticing that my body is looking more trim and slim.

Recruiter wants to re tape me Wednesday and said he was done for the month on new enlistments.

I think it's a little ****ty, considering how hard I've been working to get after it before the end of the month. I really didn't want to enlist any later than March. I tried telling him I cleared the tape and BMI at meps and the only thing holding me back was my weight. He's a legit guy and been really cool to me throughout the whole process. I just think it's a little lame that he won't go down to Montgomery the last week of the month.

Oh well, I guess I'm getting a few extra days to work on keeping it off.

Here is the first FAQ on the site.

Is it OK to eat less than my daily PointsPlus program Target?
Not if you want to lose weight in a healthy way. Your daily PointsPlus Target helps you to create the energy deficit that’s important for weight loss. But it’s also carefully calculated to help ensure that you have enough room to get in the nutrients your body needs, and to feel satisfied as you lose weight. So, to cover the nutrient end of things, never eat less than your daily PointsPlus Target each day. And to help yourself stay satisfied, try to just stick with your personalized daily PointsPlus Target. We’ve seen it again and again: Deprivation doesn’t work.

Insanity Day 8 in the books folks. Was a long day for me but I pushed through it. Woke up this AM about 4:30 with some crazy wind gusts. About 15 minutes later lost all power. So no breakfast or routine this morning for me. Now I'm sitting back and drinking my recovery shake. My favorite part of the day!

I recommend a protein shake within 30 minutes or so of finishing your Insanity. I didn't use it the first 2 days and could really tell a difference after I started using it. Also use it for a filler breakfast if I don't have time to fix myself something in the AM.

I use ifitness to track my workouts. It's fine, but I got it a few years ago, there may be better ones.

It's funny how our minds can play games with us. I'm currently on a strength program, so in my mind I know losing weight is not the goal right now. But since the beginning I've lost about 15 lbs(mostly b/c of cleaning up my diet), so part of me gets a little frustrated when the weight loss stops and starts to hover and even go up a little. Now keep in mind I know losing lbs isn't the goal at the moment although it is a longterm goal.

I'll stay on this strength program until about the end of april or may then go into a cutting phase which will basically mean Im just adding running back into my routine and cut a few things out of my diet. Right now I'm 6' hovering around 240 lbs (was 235 before this program). My ultimate goal is to get to around 200-205 by the end of the summer.

I've been hitting the gym for the past week and change...man, do I feel good.

I start off with a mile on the treadmill (has been taking me about 10-11MIN, although yesterday I did it in 9 and change), and then a a different focus on weights.

I hope to get to a point where I can run for the entire mile. May not sound like much, but doing it at a higher speed, obviously. I can jog for a mile and change, easily.
