    Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Plyometric workout Tuesday killed me. It's great though because I know these workouts are exactly what I need to get to my goal. Have my cross training class in the morning tomorrow than playing some basketball a hour and a half later. How my Thursdays generally will be for now on. Just reassurance that I will get to where I want to be.

Yeah, Plyometric was the toughest workout yet for me. Cardio Power and Resistance wasn't too bad and seemed to go by pretty quick for me last night. Woke up a bit sore this morning but down 7 lbs so that's really encouraging for me. Cardio Recovery is on the schedule tonight for me.

        Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I like doing Cardio Recovery in the morning before work. Good way to wake up and stretch everything out.

The one I dread the most is still Cardio Power for some reason though I think overall it is "easier" than Plyo simply because that second set in plyo is where I wear out the most. But I hate power jumps. Hate them with a burning passion.

Pure Cardio is probably the quickest for me.

And yeah, second month is ridiculous. It tweaks the warm ups and workouts and adds an additional set. The first week is exhausting. Luckily for me I timed it just so that my first week of month 2 is the week after the end of tax season.

Cardio Recovery is done and already had my recovery shake for the night. Was pretty sore all day at work today but feeling alot better after the 40 minutes today. Tomorrow is Pure Cardio which I hear is fun but challenging.

Both are good, depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Are these pretty good machines to own? My wife bought me one for my birthday.

Quick update, this is about the 4 week mark and Im down 20 pounds. My appetite is way different than it was last month where I would be looking to eat large amounts all the time. In retrospect I regret it. Moving forward though and this isnt so hard to do.

I went out with some friends tonight in Harlem to a place called Harlem BBQ and got a rack of ribs slathered in some sauce and a ton of fries and I said **** it; cheat day! As I ate I was just thinking of all the aspect of the meal I had no business eating like all the sugar from that BBQ sauce, the size of the rack, the greasy fries. It kinda grossed me out...for a second then it all got devoured. I went the month with zero cheat meals because I felt I would easily relapse afters starting the movement so recently. But I have no desire to indulge like that again for a while.

Anyway, feeling good about myself and looking forward to more progress.

I think a "cheat meal" is good for you. I don't have cheat days, but about two or three times a month, I will have whatever I want for just that meal. Keeps me going.

Congrats, man. I just broke the 20 pound mark as well.

Depends on how strict a timeline you want to be on, but that's why I say don't schedule a cheat day or meal, just be aware of what you're eating. That alone will help you do better.

I just started WW for men online.

Had a 30% discount and decided to go for it.

skinnytaste.com is a great website with WW friendly recipes.

                        FT, from that website above.

This is an easy, light lunch recipe, or appetizer, using canned tuna with chopped red onion and a little red wine vinegar and added broccoli and celery, served on spinach leaves.

Let me know how it goes! I started this past Monday. Sunday was supposed to be my first off day but due to work, plans and other stuff coming up, yesterday was my off day. So I'll be doing Pure Cardio and Plyometric Cardio this weekend!

I was going to try it as it worked extremely well for my wife. She dropped 72 pounds (in about 6 months) and is down to 122. She recently ended her membership, but this app is as good as the weight watchers app if not better (although since you paid for the program might as well use WW app)

                              It's called Value Diary.

I've hesitated to post this - but this has been my motivation.

My wife was never super skinny or nothing. Always been a bit on the thicker side. She was about 145 or so when I met her. Over the years she had gotten up to low 170's After the birth of our son, she never lost that weight. When he got placed in the hospital we both ate out worries away. She was 194 when we came home and I was about 175 (about the heaviest I've ever been. I'm only 5'6" and all the weight was on my stomach)

When my son got released from the hospital she said she was tired of it and going to lose weight. She joined Weight Watchers and started working out. Within about 6 months or so she lost 72 pounds. I lost about 25 pounds in a few months just eating better as well.

The other day she went to buy some shorts and she had to buy a size 2. She was in a size 16.

So she is differently part of my motivation. If she never made the effort I probably wouldn't have either.
