There is nothing more electric in basketball than playing above the rim. You know why? It's because only special athletes can do that. Anybody can go to the Y and jack up some 3 pointers and make some and think they are Curry. A very small % of people can pull off an athletic dunk.

Those plays "bring down the house". Those plays don't exist in the WNBA right now.

The big issue would be the costs for all the adjustable hoops that would be needed at the the lower levels.
Ha you brought up a name my mom played against.

I think people would be open to the costs because at the end of the day it's going to promote women's sports. That's typically a cause that people will get behind.

The scores are extremely low, and having the rims at 9' likely means they are more able to get the ball to the hoop.
Well my point was you're likely not going to be able to take every rim pair in middle and high school gyms, plus parks and blacktops, and make them adjustable from 9 to 10 feet on the fly. Staples Center? Sure, they'll even take the time of day to swap them out (I mean they convert things for Lakers/Clippers games, and even turn it into a hockey rink). Colleges? Eh, probably I suppose if you dream big enough, but now we're talking about making it a standard so we'd have to hit every single one of them. But lower than college, and it's just not happening.

I'm for a wide across-the-board standard for lowering them for girls and women alike, but that doesn't seem anywhere within feasible reason to do for every hoop across the nation so that all ages can be a part of it. If we can hypothetically say that we can apply it to the WNBA and college hoops, the contention from high school to college that "they'll adjust" is iffy, but it's there. You'd probably be scouting players differently though if that was actually a thing. Same thing goes from college to WNBA if one was different than the other. So again, I'm fine with the notion if it was a standard everywhere, but otherwise I have minor objections.

I wouldn't be against it if it happened, I was just more in a devil's advocate position than anything else.

I like the idea, but not sure two mute slow moving bad guys is the best match up. Granted Freddy vs Jason did suck. Jason Vorhees and Michael Myers vs Mike Myers and Jason Lee?

it isn't any worse than hospital food. I also don't want to come down too hard on hospital kitchen staffs; they do make really rather excellent Jell-O

it ends and begins w/UAB. but I've got 5 or 6 other hospitals (in the Birmingham metro area) that gets two gowns down

On the bottom end of the spectrum: any VA hospital anywhere.

I sincerely hope frontline troops are eating better than the people in the VA's....

I do believe I'd rather keep wearing a nose covering after out long national nightmare is over but not for health reasons. there is nothing more gear-grindy than random strangers stanky b.o. and these last few months I've noticed I don't notice these smells nearly as much.

also, parking lots have become so congested with auto traffic (not talking about parked vehicles) a few of them need their own red light green lights at peak hours
