I agree. Until there is a vaccine available, the end isn't near. Even if we flatten the curve, things will spike back up eventually and whose to say this pandemic doesn't happen again. So hopefully it doesn't take the 12-18 months to find a vaccine.

I work in healthcare and I work on a hospital unit where we converted to a COVID floor. I can see the stress and worry from the nurses and aides. Not having enough PPE and/or seeing situations where a lot of PPE is wasted. I don't have to go in patients rooms anymore, but still have to come in close contact with monitoring devices that the positive patients wear. But honestly, I feel more comfortable at work doing 12 hour shifts than going to a grocery store for 30 minutes. At least at the hospital, I'm more aware, take extra precautions, and a lot of times I'm not in close contact with anyone else. Since I have a toddler, I never let her touch me until I wash up and get changed anyway after work. Now, I get changed in my garage, so I don't bring those clothes in the house.

My wife was talking to a friend whose his mind is a first responder. He enters the house though a side door and heads to the basement to the shower and put on new cloths his wife sets out for him before he gets to greet the kids.

      Every day. That is tough.

That's not the purpose of that at all. It's to get consumers to spend money. If there are no business to spend it at it won't do you much good either.

Well we just had the shelter in place in Travis County (Austin, TX) extended through 5/8/2020 and also makes it mandatory that you wear a mask out in public.

What if you don't have a mask?

You make one with a t-shirt. Isn't that hard.

I just do three 12-hour shifts a week, so it's not as bad. But my GF who works five 8-hour shifts at hospital as well has to do similar thing. It is tough having a Toddler who wants to run up to you after work and having to avoid them. Always worrying getting infected and passing it on or having to quarantine

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

                    I'm so frustrated.

My wife has had a persistent cough for over a week and has been denied testing. They put her on an antibiotic after diagnosing her with a "possible" upper respiratory infection via telemedicine, and the antibiotic did nothing. Her cough has gotten worse, she's super fatigued, and her chest hurts. But she has not had a temperature. Apparently fever is the sole determining factor over whether or not you can get a dang test. She went today to the triage center at our local hospital (a tent complex they set up in the parking lot) and they took her vitals, gave her a different drug for her cough, but refused her a test for the third time. She slept most of the day. We don't think it's CV, but even the doctor said that they can't rule it out. I'm just so frustrated.

Exactly. Sometimes it hard to look at the bigger picture. It's the same with oil prices. If oil prices had continued to drop the industry would have collapsed and millions more would have been out of work, but it's easy to look at it as, well great now gas prices are going to stop going down.

Granted, living in California, we have so many state taxes on gas that oil could drop to $0 a gallon and our gas would still be $2 a gallon, smh.

Photos shared among emergency room staff at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit show bodies being stored in vacant hospital rooms and piled on top of each other inside refrigerated holding units brought into the hospital's parking lot.
CNN acquired the photos from an emergency room worker. Two other emergency room workers confirm the photos are an accurate portrayal of the scene taking place at the hospital during early April, during one 12-hour shift they describe as overwhelming. The ER workers spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity out of concern for their jobs.

                            Only in Florida...

WWE was recently deemed an "essential business" in Florida, a decision that could open the door for other sports to resume in the state.

I don't live in FL, but Governor DeSantis strikes me as wholly in over his head.

He has mainly left the choices up to the local mayors. Florida also hasn't been hit like you think it would with the older and sicker population.

As long as the athletes are cleared, this is nothing. They won't have fans and will only employees who are negative will be in the building.

Since I'm not watching all the states and hot places like a hawk like I did a few weeks ago, I'd say Florida is steadily climbing in positive cases. The last I looked, Florida was below Wisconsin (#23) and now it's ahead of Louisiana in the top 8, albeit the mortality rate is almost 35 to 40% of Louisiana's.

Interesting to see the outcome of this.

Maybe the President will step in and over rule the Governor or Mayor.

Will they be practicing the 6ft. distancing guidelines?(sarcasm)
