So if the age of the virus cases is skewing way younger right now, and there's a strong connection and overlap between ideology held by that age group, people visibly present at the protests and riots being younger, and those who incessantly and annoyingly mocked the old folks for not wanting to lose their businesses and livelihoods then uh.....yeah.

I knew we were ****ed when the experts said a huge responsibility for controlling this would depend on young folks.

Am I the only one who saw a ton of criticism of the reopen protests and literally none of it had anything to do with age? That was just not a point of mockery in the places I was looking I guess.

How much money off of clicks has been made from the thousands of daily "will you get a 2nd stimulus check?" articles the past few months?

A couple things I was thinking about today, not sure if I am correct or not.

            1) I think cloth masks are safer than surgical ones, for at least not contracting the virus. The triple woven or covered masks fit flush across the skin, near your cheeks just like in N95. The surgical masks have that fold in the area, which allows germs to come in from the side.

            2) The masks other than the N95s may not provide 100% protection, but they effectively increase the closeness you can be with people. Captain Obvious hear, but the fabric or materials in the mask cause your breath to meet resistance and steer your vapor in an up pattern while a smaller percentage still goes forward. So while I am still doing the six feet thing, the materials cause your breath not to travel as far and straight forward.

            3) Cloth masks are a lot more comfortable than surgical and N95, especially the ones that just wrap around your ears instead of going around your head/neck. Though I would recommend an N95 anyday, I would put the cloth mask ahead of the surgical mask.

I have literally never seen one of those articles. I’m kinda surprised by how little o hear about more stimulus coming.

To be honest, the stimulus check thing seemed like a giant waste of money. Unless the government was planning on doing enough to get the economy rolling by June 1st, at the least, there was no point. It was pissed away money most people used on debt.

I mean, they cane as we stared into the unknown, of how all this would go. Why would I waste money at that moment?

so my County has went way up. About 3 weeks ago we had 50. Now we are at 113. So we have had more in 3 weeks then we had the 3 months before including 5 yesterday.

Off topic but on topic. Free for anyone to answer

Has anyone applied for the SBA EIDL loan/grant?

I thought it was a grant. But I just got my quote and it looks to be a loan with no mention of not having to pay back or it being a grant at all. I'm just confused because I understood it to be something that would not need to be paid back

Business loan or personal loan? If business loan, PM me. May not be much help but can offer some insight.

I didn't see it either, but I admittedly try not to get too deep into watching the news daily because I think it's mind-numbing. It seems like a reasonable assumption considering the demographics of the lockdown protestors though.

Dane County, which is mostly comprised of Madison, WI. has put out new orders starting today. Wisconsin has spiked recently in LaCrosse and Dane County, two counties with colleges and the contact tracing is reaching bars, according to medical authorities.

All indoor gatherings are permitted with 10 individuals or fewer not including employees. Individuals must maintain physical distancing. (Section 2.a.)

All outdoor gatherings are permitted with 25 individuals or fewer not including employees. Individuals must maintain physical distancing. (Section 2.b.)

At restaurants (defined in order), indoor dining capacity reduced to 25% of approved seating capacity levels. (Section 5.b)

Bars (defined in order) may provide takeout (no indoor dining). (Section 5.b)

Bars and restaurants are permitted to provide outdoor seating, with physical distancing. (Section 5.b)

Orders must be different than guidelines.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

My wife is a lawyer at a midsize firm here in St. Louis. She’s an appellate attorney and most of her work is research and writing, so working from home is working out well.

But it’s complicated. Most of the partners are of the mind that working from home is weak, worrying about the virus is weak, and they want the office opened. They had a date in June, but had to put it off because the building had not prepared. Now they have a July 8 target.

This worries Teresa’s for two reasons. One, if she gets sick, my odds of surviving are low. But, she is also in line to possibly be the managing partner in the next year or two when it comes up. Working from home could impact that. Worse, because the firm is pretty sexist, the first thing she noticed was that only women had signees up to stay working at home, and she doesn’t feel like she can if that’s the case.

Yesterday one of the attorneys that never stated working from home announced that he had gone to a bar with 8 friends, and they all have now tested positive. Today, it was confirmed he was, too.

That led to them sending home 10 employees that were exposed to him, and one has shown symptoms or tested positive. That lawyers boss is the guy they call the firm super spreader because he talks to everyone, thinks masks are lame, and is touchy-feely. He was not one of the 10 that went home. He’s still there.

Teresa home a call from an attorney that has just let this partner in without a mask to talk to him in his office. The partner asked if he could leave the mask off, but the lawyer didn’t feel comfortable saying no because of job implications. Now he has to go home, and because of remodeling issues and three kids at home, it’s hard for him to be productive there.

They have three floors, but they aren’t restricting people to one floor, which would be better, do that one infection doesn’t spread to everyone.

But with 10, and now potentially more our in quarantine, plus the possibility that some will get very sick, one guy going to a bar has now set the official opening of the office back indefinitely and upended a bunch of lives.

If that guy had been working from home, then his night out would have had less impact. And if he was a mask wearing guy, that might help.

You gotta love the people that just cite the survivability rate of 99.5% without context

That still got us to 130,000 dead currently and counting...130 THOUSAND!!!

                                But also...

...that's 15 people dead one night at XS Nightclub

...thats 100 people dead at one Laker game

...that's 300 people dead one day at Disney World

...that's 500 people dead one day at Coachella

...that's 45,000 people dead that watch Jeopardy

Any of the above happening would have been upsetting UNIVERSALLY...not just minimized to "Well, 99.5% survived...so [emoji2377]"

Just wanted to put that 99.5% "survivability rate" into some perspective
