I still think one of the weirdest situations the game puts you in when you have a player complain about lack of first team football, and you are given the opportunity to have another player who was complaining about first team football tell that person not to worry about first team football

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So first season done in India. I actually played every game this time.
We dominated the league. I bled some young Indian players who are developing well. And I over spent wages on my 6 foreign players. Who just demolished everyone. Speed kills in this league. Most Indian players max out at 10 pace/acc. So having 6 players with 14+ is almost cheating.
Also turns out Mohun Bagan is one of the better clubs. I wasn't aware until we won and it said this was our 10th win since 1998. We make more money and have a larger wage budget than most teams. So its no wonder they expected a league win and we delivered.
Winning the league qualifies you for the AFC Cup. Which is equivalent to the Europa League. The AFC Champions Cup is the big one, but only certain leagues can qualify for it. Apparently India is one of the smaller "developing nations", so they can only play in the AFC Cup. And winning the AFC Cup does not let you playing the AFC Champions Cup. They don't appear to be connected in anyway in the game. But in real life teams from the Champions cup drop down to the AFC Cup.
And apparently when a team is promoted from the below division, they are exempt from relegation for two seasons. Which is crazy, but kind of cool.
And now we have another cup that starts. This one is not every other day though. Its actually spread out. Its just for teams in the I-league. I expect to win it. But the board couldn't care less about it.
And I was finally able to go on a coaching course. I asked as soon as we locked up the league win. However my contract expires end of next month and the board haven't approached me to sign a new one yet.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
No loans at all. Only thing I can come up with is that we just don't have any significant revenue streams. We just clinched as Champions, so hopefully life in Ligue 2 will bring us some more sponsorships, higher gate receipts, etc.Comment

That’s what’s going on with me at Bury. I’m almost a million on the hole and playing in League 1 doesn’t give you many options for revenue.

I am having the opposite problem. In the year I've been at Darlington now, I'm spending just under the salary budget and the bank balance has grown by about 60-70%. And that includes the board expanding stadium seating in the offseason. But they won't send me on a coaching course, won't allow me to hire a goalkeeping coach, and won't improve the training facilities. My patience wears thin.Comment

One benefit of being sick is I’ve been able to play copious amounts of FM the last 2 days.
Any who, doing well with Bury. What’s not doing well is the finances. I had to sell one of my top youngsters to Burnley for 1.4 million.
About 120k a month is going to pay off their debt, which is about 3.5 million. Luckily I have an agreement with Man City so I’ve been able to loan 2 of their youngsters for nothing.
My name was mentioned for the Swansea and Sunderland jobs which came open. Neither of them offered though.
