Mexico can't compete on the field so they just attack US players.

The past two major games, two different players grabbed someone by the neck directly in front of the ref and it wasn’t even a yellow card.

It sucks that two of our best players got sucked into their bull**** and will miss the final.

Also, their supporters - yet again - are allowed to throw things at players and nothing is ever done about it.

Did anyone expect anything different from Mexico after they fell behind...both from their players and their supporters?

As for the news of Berhalter's return....sigh. We hire a firm to conduct a coaching search...only to circle back around to Gregg?

        That is SOOOOOO US soccer.

I was at the game last night. It was awesome. Only other men’s national game I’ve been to was a friendly against France in 2011.

Supposedly some of the favorites over Gregg bowed out for various reasons, money being one of them. I really thought Marsch would be the favorite, but he backed out via his agent before all the interviews were conducted.

As for the game the other night, I really think Mexico is having a tough time realizing they're no longer the power of CONCACAF. The way they're trending, I wouldn't be surprised if Mexico is surpassed by Costa Rica and Canada within the next couple of years.

It's time for Americans to put their hand-wringing about honesty aside and start regularly referring to Mexican soccer as a toxic organization and culture.

Make enough noise that fifa has to address it.

The toxicity isn't just limited to Mexico, but it seems most firmly ensconced there.

I'd also be ok with our players standing up for themselves every once in a while and leaving some scars.

Three usmnt is playing too well, so gotta bring GB back so we can aim for more draws

This team is pretty damn good. Will be interesting to see how the Gold Cup goes as it’s mostly different players.

Isn't Gregg taking over for the Gold Cup? I think B.J. Callaghan did well with the man management during the Nations League and wish I could've seen him have a few more games at the helm.

Also, did y'all see Mexico Diego Cocca stepped down this morning? Not a good look for Mexico going into the Gold Cup and getting ready for the WC.

Hard to not be very disappointed in retaining GB. He did well enough in the last cycle, but not well enough to believe the side will make a leap...

That being said, some of the names floated were a little concerning.

I feel like the organization was too fearful to thoroughly vet candidates with the GC and WC on the horizon, and went with familiarity... which seems almost inevitably a low-energy camp, more formation > talent, and frustration/disappointment.

BJ is coaching the Gold Cup as well.

It's really hard to get excited about this World Cup with all of the important matches happening overnight

Speak for yourself, I love having games on when I'm getting ready for work and during my first few hours of work.

Agreed. We have a 3 month old so usually my wife is up but she tries to wait for me and not watch. It’s nearly impossible though. I’m just happy to have a wife that’s as large of a footie fan as I am (and he’s, also a United supporter as will be our daughter lol)

This is by no means a gimme game either.
