I See generic playbooks are back in CFM, when we choose playbooks for our team? Still not in coaches section. Check vault for my super SIM playbook. Named: RunPassPB or PassRunPB, forgot which.

I have not been in CFM for a while, but I will try to check some things out this weekend. The problem is that if it is not in the coaches section, there is no easy way to get the CPU to use the generic rosters.

I did not use generic rosters in M18 because they all had the pistol formation and I hate seeing it when playing classic rosters.

I think once you implement an: 80, 70, 60 ratings scales to quarter backs awareness and throw accuracy, that teams will run more, imo. I think the simulation engine will correct itself, and see running plays as more viable. With human team using west coast book, and computer team using ravens book, hopefully things correct

Thank goodness they gave us the generic books back in CFM. Totally shocked me when I saw it. Will need to test, and report back. Seems simulation engine throws to much when a team gets even one touchdown behind.

I agree with him. In order to combat the terrible playbooks and AI coaches gameplans is to do this to the rosters. It will make the games play more like they did in 1985. I personally loved the Air Coryell offense and I know it will come. I know Lilly knows what he is talking about and I have the same belief as him on this.

That being said I did create a true 46 Defense playbook. It's all 46 with a little 5-2 and Quarters 3 deep (2 plays) to compete with the Hail Mary. I can't wait to use it with the 85 Bears. And I want to run it with the Seahawks after a few drafts. Gotta get a team that can run it.

I have tested, and guess what,... you ain't gonna like this, lol. Yes, Pistol playbook is only solid option. Give all teams ravens offense playbook as default. Control each home team, and super SIM every game on schedule. I think 4 or 5 minute quarters.

Use Carolina playbook for home team. Why? Cause they got pistol formation in default book. Match Carolina formations, with generic pistol formation. Use formation subs to get carries distributed to either 3 hb, or 2 hb and fb. Check plays end of game and very classic. QB don't seems to run a lot, unless their bcv is appropriately high.

Not sure about auto-subs for running backs. Maybe use Flazkos suggestions. I had it set @ 88/84, with my reduced stamina scale implemented.

I am pretty confident in my ratings and formulas I use. The results are good in the limited testing I have done. My QB ratings are pretty low and it makes for good in game and simmed game results.

I have found little evidence over the years to suggest that having low rated QBs and high rated RBs actually helps or influences CPU run/pass ratio in played or simmed games. Run/ pass ratio is tied to playbook and scheme.

I gained some extra time this weekend so I will run some test games using the roster so far in CFM. It will not be perfect, but it might show me a few things.

Lilly of the Valley; yes, in order to get the best sim stats you must go in and sim each game individually. The full season sim engine is not reliable.

The other issue overall is that no matter how you sim, QBs simply do not run enough. Less of an issue for 1985, but still an issue. David Archer ran 70 times in 1985 and Elway ran 51; most other QBs were much lower. But so far the sim engine refuses to have QBs run even that much.
