Only awareness. I am toying with a couple of versions of awareness in terms of formula. My old formula makes AWR too high and the QBS throw very few INTS in simmed games.

Once a settle on the formula for sure I will let you know what I am using.

I'm not sure if he was a better receiver or QB...or the stunt double for Magnum P.I. (I was 13 in 1985---Malone was dreadful to watch. And then life brought us Bubby Brister).

I was born in 90 so I didn't have to watch it live. But being a football and history nerd I have watched as many steelers games from the 70s on I can find. The mid-late 80s are a chore to get through lol. At least Bubby was loveable even though he wasn't good. Malone was just straight up bad

This is going to be just a great classic roster CFM experience for me as I really get a chance to change the course of history for my man Dan Marino and his two amigos Mark Clayton and Mark Super Duper.


With the draft classes and free agency.....we have a shot to create the dynasty that should have been but never materialized due to draft bust’s and the lack of a legit running game throughout the 80’s Marino Era.

This is just exciting stuff and I am getting so geeked up for all of it.


I just ask (and Percussion has as well) that everyone have patience. Like Percussion I am married, have a 13 year old son, coach two baseball teams, and work full time. So this is a project we are sinking in whatever spare time we have in between life.

But it will be well worth it. And by the time the 85 roster set and the accompanying draft classes are ready we will most likely have a far better tuned Madden 19 to play it on. The game needs some work.

My impressions are coming soon on the game itself after the weekend. All I had been doing was playing CFM games and getting sliders locked in. I want to dive into CFM mode itself with a true test CFM using a couple of different teams (not my Dolphins till I am ready to start that one) and check out all the progression and scheme additions as well as continue to tune the game slider wise.

The potential of this game is incredible. But it needs some dev attention as it is rough around the edges right now.

Much more to come with a detailed impression this weekend. But I will throw this nugget out:

It is far better than 25, 15, 17 and 18. So that is saying a lot as I played all of those release to release (except 18 which I shelved in October and did not pick up again till March due to the botched brain dead CPU QB AI).

Good things this cycle....lot’s of good things for us sim heads and classic roster junkies!!

i love the roster idea here - but honestly, is this a broken game and REALLY worth the $60??? i'm not bashing - i'm asking a serious question here from guys i trust. thanks! (i know this isnt the place, but with regard to the classic files and these draft classes - it's worth asking here).

Good question. I cannot speak for others and I know the forums are full of people saying they cannot run or the CPU cannot run. I am not experiencing that at all. The running game is different, but it is effective. I think the game needs a few tweeks from tuners, but overall I think the game is fine in terms of gameplay.

My biggest concern is in Franchise mode in regards to the run/pass ratio and sim stats. I think both of those CAN be fixed by EA with tuners/patches. Now, will those be fixed? I do not know.

When I play franchise, I always run 32 team control which helps make up for the poor AI decisions (I can fix its mistakes). Plus I tend to play a lot of games each week. Not necessarily all of them, but several. If I can get the playbooks to have a good run/pass ration in played games I will be happy.
