Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Is the 12 minutes/18 seconds giving the best amount of plays? Because for 15 or so games I was using 15 mins with 14 runoff and averaging the NFL average ppg. So cutting it down that much concerns me. Unless you're seeing accurate ppg (haven't tried 12m18s yet)

  • I've heard the Facemask slider might impact fumbles. Do you agree with that, and if so, would you recommend higher or lower to increase them?
  • For pass deflections, I'm glad to see you're getting some good #s, but are any of them "user controlled" ones? I play Coach Mode, hence why I'm asking, since I'm not seeing a lot.
I think the facemask slider affects the percentage of different types of tackles (big hits, wrap-ups, arm tackles). You see far more wrap-ups/big hits at 50 and above and lower settings you see more arm tackles (i.e. more strip attempts). Again, all of this is potentiated by the tackle setting.

Passes defended is a tricky stat....

I can't find team stats (if someone can, please post the link), but individual leaders are here:
http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/pl...passesDefended

As you can see, there are only one or two guys averaging more than a couple of deflections a game. If I had to guess, I would imagine that teams average 2-5 deflections per game. I'm seeing that number and 90% of the time, I let my guys do the work. Most pass breakups (in real life and here) are from guys knocking the ball out....but I don't believe (real life or madden) that these are recorded as passes defended/deflected.

Game issue, not a slider issue.

I haven't seen an issue....I was using 13 min/18 second runoff and was seeing about 150 plays total. Play style (such as number of pass incompletions) is going to be a huge factor here.

I prefer keeping the higher run-off as I actually see the CPU audible plays more (and I have been burned at times).

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

One other general point....while these sliders may play well in coach mode, that is not my style of play. I have to be way more involved in the gameplay and do not do house rules. I don't switch four or five times every play or anything like that (unless it is a breakaway run) - but I also don't resign myself to never switching.

You can see my style a bit more by watching my streams. Also, my play style is quite similar to CJ's (except I control d-linemen)...so it isn't too tough to catch one of us on Twitch.

One observation i definitely noticed was that the CPU offense with the CPU QB ACC at 50 has "bite" they take shots down the field and check down, its a real good mixture just depends on what you give them.

I was actually wondering about this... My D philosophy is to stop the run and dare them to throw so I usually stay in my base set and bring a safety into the box on early downs. I play 15/15 now and the cpu rarely if ever checks to a pass, just slams into my brick wall. I'm going to try a lower quarter length/higher runoff and see if that changes anything

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Game 2 at Cleveland and I have to say it was a great game...yes the score was lopsided, but I do have a pretty awesome offense. I put up a bunch of yards but none of it felt cheap, I had to work for each and every one.

Loved the fact that Manziel played like the shi@#y QB he is and barely completed 50% of his passes. the cpu also was able to shut down my running attack in the 1st half (Bell only had 26yds) but I stuck with it and was able to open it up in the 3rd. Cpu also had a little success running the ball.

Only issue is I have yet to see a fumble, although my rookie rb did cough it up late in the 4th but the refs overturned on review.

Next up Ravens away...gotta love these madden created schedules.

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Josh, used your latest set last night. Played the same game twice just to try and limit variables. Obviously, a very small sample size, but for what it's worth, three overall observations:
  1. Line play was awesome. I think you nailed it. Guys were shedding blocks, falling down, pulling well, etc. It was so nice to see so much variety in the animations versus the typical suction and dancing they do on default.
  2. Didn't see any fumbles. I don't want to lower the fumble slider, because I've seen it negatively impact the run game (hence why I asked earlier about the facemask slider).
  3. Everything else was great (really liked the run game) except the pass game. It was TOO good. High pass % on both sides. Stafford got around 80% in both games. Cutler got high 70s in one game, and then the 2nd game he got injured early. Clausen came at proceeded to also be in the high 70s. Then HE got injured and some scrub 3rd stringer o mine also got in the 70s for comp %. I did play a lot of zone, and when I watched the replays, my D seemed to hesitate more. They didn't react as quickly. In each game there was only 1 pass deflection in total and 1 INT.

I know as a Coach Mode player I should expect my experience to be a bit different than yours. But this is the 3rd set I've played (tested two others of my own) where I lowered the Tackle slider and I saw an increase in pass %. Could be a complete fluke, but I think I'm going to lower QBA with your set and see if that helps balance out the problem. Otherwise, everything else was awesome.
