Re: JoshC1977's Madden 19 Sliders (for CFM Only)

I've just started using these sliders. 3 games now. Helped with my run game. Still cant get the CPU run game going. Even if I'm in quarter, I have no fear of the CPU running game. Held Lamar Miller to under 20 yards on 15 Carrie's. Held fournette to -8 yards on 10 Carrie's in 1st half (finished with 3 yards). Yeldon didnt fair much better. Blount had less then 20 as well. Playing as the Patriots by the way.

I do like how the CPU switches backs in and out of the game, but I wish the rb wouldnt make stupid cuts in the open field.

And I'm with you Josh. I dont want to go in and mess with rosters.

As a whole though I am enjoying these sliders. Games are close which is good. I think 9 minute quarters helps with this.

I know it’s not supported but I’m using this setup to check some cpu vs. cpu Action in my temp IND CFM. Looks good so far.

Halftime of Week 1. Lost Luck with ligament tear I think and lost Mack with a broken something or other.

Here’s what the rushing looks like thus far...

Hey Josh, any recommendations like last year regarding the CPU's playbooks or editing the opposing QB's traits or anything like that? I haven't gotten the game yet, but I figured I'd ask before I did so I could just plug in these sliders and play right away. Thank you.

This happened. G.Bernard still has -7 yards on 6 attempts for CIN though.

JoshC1977's Madden 19 Sliders (for CFM Only)

OK guys, I need help testing out something as I don't have time to get a lot testing in right now. But I had an epiphany last night and I think I figured out the root cause of the imbalance this game has.

Go back to these pre-release patch notes:
https://www.operationsports.com/madd...ch-notes-here/

You will note under the franchise updates section:
  • Reduced frequency of injuries
No big deal right? Wrong I say as the injury sliders have a very strong impact on player aggression. Here is the issue, if they tuned the values under the hood JUST in franchise, we need to offset the MM and CFM injury setting. I already knew that the difference was equal to about 5 points from prior testing; but my mistake was applying the five point increase in both the main menu and CFM when that is not what EA did. So basically, by adjusting both, I was still allowing the imbalance to remain.

So, I went back to default, but bumped-up the CFM injury setting 5 points. Boom! Everything began to fall into place.
  • That "feeling" of defenders moving faster than offensive players was gone.
  • CPU runners were running MUCH more directly.
  • Line blocking was more in sync with the other players on the field.
  • Tackle animations were toned-down a fair bit (I'd still like to see less hit power...but I digress).
  • DB reactions were more in-tune with receivers (though still quite good)
  • Even injury variety was much improved. In my one test game I could squeeze in, I saw a total of 6 injuries (2 for a few plays, 3 for 1-2 quarters, and 1 for rest of game). They weren't all of those crazy broken collarbone injuries either because the tackle animations weren't all those crazy big hits.
The problem....just one game sample size so far (this could all be a 1 game outlier...but I don't think so). I need all of you to help me test this out. So, please make the following adjustments from the current OP set:
  • Main Menu Injury to 10
  • Main Menu Fatigue to 50
  • Main Menu Threshold to 50
  • CFM Injury to 45
  • CFM Fatigue to 50
  • CFM Threshold to 50
So basically, it's all default except for that CFM injury value at 45.

I need people to try these out in franchise mode using unmodified rosters for control purposes (i.e. no trait adjustments). If using an existing CFM, please hit the "reset" button in the CFM slider screen BEFORE manually enter the injury adjustment.

Please provide feedback on the overall gameplay and ANY egregious issues with injuries (i.e. if you start seeing a dozen multi-week injuries per game).

Just to be sure - this is what you want, right?
