@gratwickfilms @DenairNYC gamers want skill mechanics to dictate outcomes, not random dice rolls. Perfect solution is offering unique modes
User should be able to impact and influence outcomes. Should never be absolute (ex. green release in 2k) just because the user is involved. If a game was all absolute to user input, no one would buy or play it, in my opinion.

Last year Rex told community user gets boost when using play receiver vs agg catch -- ppl still refused to and just 'let the computer do it"...if they want user to dictate outcomes, i sure see lot of non user open field tackles, lot of non user DB play on deep passes, etc. But, i digress.

Yep, not sure why people think it never happens. Fitzgerald has been making crazy catches all year to bail out sorry a** Palmer, but this past Sunday he drop probably the easiest pass ever thrown to him. It happens and I wish the online people would understand that so we won't get patches that totally destroy the game for us sim offline people........

A couple of tweets by Clint in the last hour:
It seems then that the solution for a quick fix would have online games be in rookie mode with offensive sliders and special teams accuracy at 100. Every pass on the mark every catch made and field goals absolutely automatic and then give us sliders that work.

Games had simulation and arcade modes 25 years ago. madden should be able to keep up with the nineties.

Their sim engine in some areas doesn't even match what the Commodore 64 had in the 1980's.

I doubt you will ever see the setting "arcade" in a football or basketball game again. Don't want to label gamers that way now.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

A list of things that should be in the sim mode that really ought not be online or a part of "esports"

1) weather conditions
2) missed assignments/wrong routes/blown coverages/bad blitz pickups
3) bad throws
4) missed kicks
5) bad snaps
6) dropped open throws
7) penalties
8) limiting hot routes
9) fatigue

No, this is not a tenable solution for very obvious gameplay balance reasons.

Just like using dice rolls exclusively, making the game painfully easy to win also minimizes the impact of stick skills on the outcome of the contest. As such your facetious proposal benefits neither tournament nor "sim" users.
