Loving it so far. Only gripe I have right now is it's too easy for a sack. Qb ai needs adjustments. Player runouts are awesome. Kind of disappointed there seems to be no exterier shot of new era field. Currently fighting the itch to upgrade to the pro solely for the better frame rate.

Bleedgreen, are you using Play Now or CFM? There was a difference last year in testing out the game in both of those modes.

Are you getting more than 120-130 plays per game?

I play 9 minute qtrs with no accelerated clock and normally avg 120-130 plays per game.

Just asking.

Re: Madden NFL 18 Retail Impressions

That was my biggest complaint. I was stoked about the whole 'simulation' mode and players playing to their ratings. I've been screaming for that for years. I even put my punter as QB and he was still too accurate.

I want the attributes to actually mean something and the good teams are good and the bad are bad, etc,

I think madden 17 for the most part did a good job on it.. when i first started with the niners we sucked, i kept track of alot of stuff year by year i did 12 seasons on M17, and we started out crappy as did the real like niners and then i built up the team and we started getting 10-13 wins a season and my overall was usually arounf 86-89

Re: Madden NFL 18 Retail Impressions

Just played a cfm game with the Jets going up against the Lions and I was terrible on offense. All of my QB's were missing throws and didn't convert a 3rd down until late in the third quarter. I know its only one game but so far I like it. I sacked Stafford once and then after that he started moving around in the pocket move trying to avoid pressure. I had trouble running the ball and only managed 63 yards. Also only had 3 injuries in the game with the slider at 10 and I just moved the penalty sliders up 1 to 51 and saw 4 penalties.

I just think it would have been better if Longshot was tied into my player like NBA 2K and it continues after the story. If i create him in my player there won't be the story around him as well as no Colton Cruise so it's just not the same. Also at the end it basically says there will be a season two which means madden 19 will have it as well
Just so you know, and everyone for that matter. If you WANT you can create a mobile QB or Speed WR with a late or undrafted background l and play as Devin or Colton in the Player part of CFM. The loading screen tips said so anyway.

Madden NFL 18 Retail Impressions

Playing on 65 inch KS8000 and PS4 Pro. This game is just screaming for HDR to be added ASAP. I feel like visual details are lost when playing in the shadows of the stadiums without it. When HDR is added, game over folks. It'll be the best looking sports game ever created.

Also one other random note. I feel like I was seeing more stadium lighting reflections on the EA access version of the game on the helmets. Anyone else notice a difference in the retail version?

There is a video by ghostrob in 4k. But I can tell you first hand after playing it on the PS4 pro and on a 4 k monitor that no video does it justice to how real the lighting makes this game look in 4k. During the EA access version, I was playing on an Xbox one. Some teams did not look that great in certain lighting. On the PS4 pro those teams looked amazing and the colors really pop.
Some people say they haven't noticed a difference on the PS4 pro, but you need to be playing on a 4k TV or monitor.
