Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

- Continue to refine the player movement. They've made huge strides for next gen and it feels great.

- Franchise upgrades is a no brainer.

- Pay attention to the small details/aesthetics and ensure the uniforms have more editable options. For example, make sure to add the new pads (there are thigh pads with the players jersey number as well as different designs from a company called tredcal that look amazing).

Also, many NFL players are wearing their pants above the knee now, make that editable along with different positions to wear the hand towel (left front, right front, side, hell just make the entire waist radius available).

Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

GM mode- I was never into the concept of Owner mode. I always thought a GM mode would be perfect for Madden. But, it's something that needs to be fully fleshed out and not barebones. For a Football game, there needs to be an Impact from GMs. I think adding GMs and making them have a real impact would add so much depth into Franchise. I would love to start as a GM for a rebuilding team and hire front office staff and hire HC. As far as Front office staff, you can just make it a Cap guy, 3 scouts(to simplify it), and a Talent Evaluator. The Salary cap guy recommends the type of contract a player gets and who to cut or who to restructure(which means contract system needs to be overhauled) in order to get under the cap. You can simplify the scout staff to just 3 guys(East, West, and Middle area scouts). Where depending on scout grades, they recommend players to scout from their area. The Talent Evaluator could be the guy who recommends who to cut, who to extend, and FAs to go after based on fit. It would be nice to have influences/requests from Owner and HC. You can tie that into the Scenario Engine. Where you have the Owner tells you, that he wants to hire a coach that will have a top 10 offense or that he wants you to draft a Franchise QB(Superstar dev trait) or make a big splash in FA. You have the coach tell you that he wants you to go after certain positions in the draft/offseason. Even include Players asking for extensions or bigger deals.

Coach impact- It would be nice to see Coaches have a bigger impact on the game and in Franchise. It would be nice for them to take that NCAA 13/14 Coach Skills approach or choose what type of coach you want to be. There could be the Developer, Playcaller/Schemer, and the Culture Setter. The Developer helps players reach their potential the fastest and potentially can raise a player's dev trait +1. Boost would be More XP. The Playcaller/Schemer is likely to have top 5-10 in team stats. He gives an in-game attribute boost to players who fit the scheme on his original side of field. As he gets better, both offense and defense gets an in game attribute boost for players who are a scheme fit. Culture Setters keeps players morale high, lowers penalty chances, and able to get players to take less than market value on contracts, increases the chances bigger name free agents. Right or Wrong HC/GM Pairings could have a big impact. If you have a good Developer coach paired with a good drafting GM, you could build fully through draft and use FA just to supplement the roster. But if you have a Schemer coach and GM who doesn't target scheme fit players, you aren't likely to see many attribute boosts.

-Full Coaching staff. It would be nice if they had Coach Carousel and you could start out as a OC/DC with a custom playbook and work your way up to a HC job and build your legacy from there.

AI Overhaul- It feels like everything that CPU has to handle needs to be overhauled. From on the field to team roster management. Game feels too scripted and robotic on the field and off the field no real disparity between teams.

Less 2 Man animations/better physics- It feels like since the start of the 7th gen, the game has relied heavily on 2 man animations and suction. I rather see more one vs one than 2 man animations. I should rarely know what exact animation will take place in a given sequence. But with Madden, you pretty much can guess what animation will occur with given actions. Once a 2 man animation takes place, it's out of user control and outcome is based on dice rolls and rating disparity probabilities. I rather them improve the physics engine and allow game to flow more naturally.

Tendencies- Along with AI, CPU players need a bigger disparity between players. If I have two similar rated players with similar abilities, there needs to be a way to make them play differently. That's where a tendency system comes in. Like I can have 2 power RBs, one likes to bounce it outside for homerun run and other likes to follow blocks. I can have two mobile QBs who one makes one read and runs if it isn't open and the other extends plays. You can have a QB who is willing to check down/throw ball away and a QB who will extend play and look for the big play. I don't know why Madden never fully fleshed out the Trait system they implemented or at least have a tendency system similar to 2k.

Career Mode- I really hope they go away from the Longshot/FotF approach. That interactive movie with limited gameplay approach isn't what career mode fans want. Just give us the full NFL athlete experience, on and off the field. Needs to be more than practice, play game, boost player, and sim ahead and repeat. Either take the PS2 Superstar Mode approach or the NHL Be a Pro mode approach. The PS2/Xbox Superstar mode was great for its time. You don't need that extra fluff. Just give us realistic stuff to do off the field for depth and good progression. I do like the NHL BAP mode approach. I didn't play it, but I watched several videos of it. I like the approach it took without having a cinematic story. I would take a NFL experience based off of the NHL BAP approach.

Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

Love the GM idea. One of my favorite parts of 2k Basketball is being a GM in myLeague and allowing my coaches to run their systems, create the rotations, etc. I simply make the roster decisions and play the games. The coaches I hire dictate the actual coaching.

It really makes the mode more enjoyable for me. I'm a Pistons fan and they are the worst team in the NBA. I just made it to year 2 and knew that Casey wouldn't be my HC longterm, but wasn't sure I'd move on from him already or not. I wanted a coach that ran the triangle, but there really weren't ant candidates that ran it. Then in the offseason a guy pops up who isn't the best coach right now, has not the most experience, but he has potential and he runs the triangle. I let Casey go, hired the new guy, and it's fun taking a chance on an known commodity. This could totally backfire on me if his in-game coaching is bad.

Free agency came, I made some moves to strengthen the roster and got some good passing players to enhance the system proficiency and now I look like I could be a playoff team already. I'm not real contender, but there is a chance if this coach can work some magic we get a 6-8 seed which I will gladly take in year 1. I have the youngest team in the league, no player over 28, and am looking to get these guys experience to enhance their progression.

I want this kind of gameplay in Madden. I have wanted it forever. I love Out of the Park because I can be a GM and simply being that role the game has an insane amount of depth. Each GM has a unique personality. Each owner does as well. All players have personalities, all staff members do. With all of the customization settings that game has, it's nice to try and build an organization that wins by actually selecting the right people and making the right moves rather than being omniscient and just signing the best rated players. The way my OOTP is setup, there is way too much fog of war to just sign the best rated players.

Don't even touch the gameplay on the field. Give me Madden with OOTP's features and I'll be an EA fanboy instantly.

Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

When I did NCAA Dynasties(haven't really done/wanted a Franchise in Madden since PS2 days), I typcially just recruit for the first 2 seasons while simming games. The focus was building my team in my image and getting players who fit my custom playbooks. So by year 3, that was "my team". With a GM mode, I would like to be the GM who builds through the draft and supplements through FA. You would need to start off in the start of Offseason. I would use FA to fill immediate needs and only sign guys to 1-2 year deals. I would focus my prioritize my Front Office staff with having good area scouts and sacrifice by having below average cap and talent evaluator. By filling immediate needs through FAs, that would allow me to draft best available. So the first 2 seasons, I would focus on scouting and drafting players. I would have coach focus on practices, gameplanning, games, and progression. So by year 3, it'll be a team that I mostly built. Actually could tie the GM aspect to Coach Carousel. Where you could start as a Coordinator and have a GM want to hire you as a coach. You could take the first job available and risk being paired with a bad GM or stay another year with same team and wait for better opportunity while risking your stock falling.

With quality games like OOTP and SMB, I wish we see more independent Football and basketball games. Yeah there's Axis and Maximum Football, but not sure if those games will ever be a true alternative. Games like OOTP and SMB shows that there could be a market for a non fully licensed sports games. But the problem falls in the Cost of Development vs Early Sells/Profit and competing with Madden/2k. I would love a OOTP/SMB type of Football Franchise with APF gameplay. That would be a perfect game for me. I just wish more publishers would be willing to take that risk because I dont see Madden having the type of Franchise depth most are looking for

Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

Special teams upgrade archetypes. What I mean is return upgrades that affect things like juke, break tackle, and more importantly return ratings. Gunner ratings on return. The ability to have a Matthew Slater type of player. Players with the skill set that can play 2 different positions. A receiver who might have some coverage skills or a corner who could be converted to a receiver or RB. Qbs is a big one. Qbs that can catch similar to Julian Edelman.

Drafted players that are completely useless is a big one. All drafted players should excel at something. Whether it's good measurables, combine score, or is really one dimensional. Most 7th round picks in Madden have no redeeming qualities at all. They're not developmental guys at all. I get there's some that never get a chance but teams don't make draft picks with the intent of letting them go the first chance they get. I shouldn't know on draft day that I picked a player that's not worth having. A player is chosen in real life because there's a least some upside.

Injury updates...if Brandon Gaudin mentions a player being hurt and then says we'll hear more after an update, I want to hear more about it later.

A name database for the commentary teams that we can select. Same thing the Show does. Would make draft picks and custom rosters feel a lot more authentic. Or have the announcers have the ability to say at least every last name in the draft pool database.

Defender awareness near goal line and 1st down markers. Too often you'll see a defender about to bring a runner short and then another defender trigger another animation that carries the runner over the line. There needs to be a pull animation where a defender will pull a runner backwards instead of jumping on took from behind. Maybe from the front makes sense but not from behind.

Fumble pile ups. There's so much warping animations that happen when a fumble occurs it always looks ugly an never natural. And it's fairly random who recovers a fumble. So just trigger a pile up that would make a lot of these issues a lot less obvious. Or make it skill based somehow. Would also help on onside kicks to give them more suspense.

Fix QB cadences until after a QB is set. You shouldn't have qbs giving cadences while everyone is still getting into position. Just have it trigger a second or 2 later than it does.

Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

Player rating ranges, and coordinater meetings (along with making coordinaters more important)

But mostly, Madden needs the free agency that NFL Head Coach 09 had. So much more realistic and fun, alongside the coaching staff carousel.8d946b0.jpegtapatalk_1615182552800.jpeg

NFL Head Coach 09 had a "Play Steal" feature.

CPU teams stole your successful plays in your playbook and added them to their playbooks. That feature met with college playbooks from incoming college coaches and user created plays birthed a new meta evolution for playcallers across the NFL.

Re: Madden 22 Wishlist..

COLLISION DETECTION!
I can’t watch the cpu break another tackles then get get encapsulated by a force field so no other defender can touch him.

Ball carriers don’t have to worry about tripping over bodies on the ground but defenders do.

Blitzing defenders getting “stuck” on a block animation happening to the other players basically means one offensive lineman can block 2 defenders.
