I don't think they wanted to give up on Morales...he's been in their system for 10 years so they wanted to give him every chance I think.

Paulino is done IMO, that pitch to Fielder was his last as a Rockie I think. But Rex Brothers will probably be the one that gets the call up. He's doing very well in the minors, and is a lefty.

And thats a problem they need to address as a team. Iannetta and Stewart are the next 2 that come to mind about getting a plethora of chances to show up. Iannetta is atleast getting walks this year while Stewart is off in outer space who has always had a hole in his stance/swing, just like Franklin Morales has always been all over the map with his releases.

That's true, but hanging onto Morales made less sense than Iannetta/Stewart. There's really no C waiting in the minors that is ready to take over (yet). Stewart's a mystery to me...we've seen what he can do, but when he's back up with the club he just can't get out of his head. So he goes back down to SkySox and hits well. AAAA player maybe. Only reason he's still here is he still had an option left and he's also untradeable right now.

I really hope Stewart the best..he seems like a nice guy and I still think he's got tremendous upside if he can just get his head right.

Re: 2011 Colorado Rockies

Paulino is designated for assignment. Greg Reynolds was scratched from his start today so he's likely to be called up with a doubleheader in one of the days against the DBacks.

Glad they're moving forward with their decisions instead of the "Lets see if it gets better" mode.

Reynolds being sent down in the first place shouldn't of happened.

Aaron Cook should not be given a starting spot immediately when/if he gets 100% healthy, he needs to prove he has control of his sinker. I dont want to watch 1, 2, 3 games of essentially BP pitches sitting up on the plate. Let Reynolds play out of his spot imo.

Oh and Joe Biemel should still be on the team. Picking Morales over him in the offseason was a

Re: 2011 Colorado Rockies

I dunno man...it seems Cook will get his spot back when he's ready. Hopefully they won't have much patience if he doesn't throw well.

I have to wonder how nervous Carney Landsford is? I don't know the internal workings of the club, but it seems kinda weird they tried to fix something (hitting) that really didn't seem broke. And now.....it's broke.

Well...... I guess rotation will be Ubaldo/Chacin/Hammel/Mortensen/Reynolds for time being and see how Cook is.

Re: 2011 Colorado Rockies

Frustrating series. Even the win wasn't enjoyable because of the loss of DLR. Anyways, Lopez DFA and EY JR up.
