Re: The 2018 New York Knicks: Beyond the Zen

Bud is exactly the kind of guy who is never available when fans want the Knicks to fire a coach and get a better one.

These guys just aren't out there, available to sign.

Have to jump on this. But if the Knicks went with the other solid options I wouldn't be mad. Just please no Jackson.

Re: The 2018 New York Knicks: Beyond the Zen

Hawks fans talk about him pretty glowingly, he's a consensus top coach, would really be ideal if we could pull this off. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether he'd want more control over moves than we'd want to give him.

We interviewed a Celtics assistant yesterday, our 9th interview so due diligence is definitely being done, and Mills/Perry were supposed to fly to Europe to meet with Blatt this week. Apparently David Griffin has mentioned before about interviewing a wide swath of candidates to get a bigger pool of information, and specifically other teams coaches for insight on how they run their teams.

Just met with Blatt today. Between potentially getting a pretty good coach whether it be Bud, Blatt, Fizdale, or Stack, and now Kanter talking about he's going to opt out... If we don't screw ourselves this could be a great offseason.

I will be incensed if we don't offer the job to Bud first. Mills and Perry talking about being patient and long term stability; it's all BS if they don't hire Bud. He is so far and away the best candidate and a guy who can be here for a long time.

We wrapped up the interview process by wasting time with Mike Brown (lol). Reportedly we'll have made the hire by the end of the week.

The only way I excuse a non Bud hire is if he ends up in Milwaukee. I wouldn't blame the guy and that would be more of a we couldn't get him deal.

Shams reported that if Bud goes to Milwaukee, Fizdale is the front runner for the job.

Grizzlies fans make him sound like a young Mark Jackson, so this should be interesting.

Fizdale it is, according to reports.
