Is it true that the Yankees are bidding for Roy Halladay? I saw it on MLB.com. Any Yankees fans want to chime in?

Not going to happen though, this is not the thread for fan trade talk.

That's a good chuckle.

As for Cole...Naw...you can keep that package of scrubs.

What do they have to bid? He's still under contract for one more year, and the Yanks don't have a package of prospects to deal for him do they?

Roy has a limited no trade in which he can veto any trade brought to the table. I somehow don't think he'd want to go to the Yanks for two reasons:

1. It'd seem waaay too easy for him to get to the postseason and win it all. Roy's a competitor and would want to do it the right way. I do think though that if the Yanks put up a good package to the Jays and they offer him the moon in contract talks before pulling the trigger that he might be tempted to go there.

2. Roy's a fly ball pitcher by and large. He's struggled in Boston and the NYS. He'll still be a damn good pitcher but his numbers will deflate quite a bit. I don't know how vain he is but i'm sure he's noticed that trend whenever he goes to those two cities.

Huh? He routinely runs one of the highest groundball rates in league, he's the exact opposite of a flyball pitcher.

Okay what I meant to say is that he lets up his fair share of HRs (normally with those not on base though)

Better senor?

Never gonna happen. Yankees don't have the prospects, and if the Jays do accept a deal, we'd have NO FARM SYSTEM. At all.
