The Blue Jays "awarded" (I put that in quotes because he's a crummy award) Edwin "E-5" Encarnacion to the Oakland A's on a waiver claim.

LOL Oakland, good luck with that.

Sans Lee and Crawford...although I wouldn't consider Carlos Pena a top free agent.

True true, but Pena is still a great power threat. And only 32.

Meh...if we get any sub-Mendoza Line power hitter, I'd rather they trade for Mark Reynolds.

Re: 2010 Hot Stove Thread

Read on ESPN that Carlos Beltran is opened to moving to RF if that is what is best for the team and is also opened to waiving his no trade clause for the better of the team.

Granted I know he is saying this stuff because he needs to get paid after this season and will do whatever to make himself look good. I do hope he bounces back this year. The Mets are going to need a BIG year from him.

Re: 2010 Hot Stove Thread

I don't see Huff going back to Baltimore since when he was there he had one really good season and 1+ decent seasons.

I don't really think Victor Martinez wants to be a 1B/DH and sometimes Catcher, which is what he would be in Baltimore.

Adam Dunn doesn't want to DH so he probably stays in the NL (unless an AL team is willing to give him the 4 year deal he is seeking).

The Orioles tried to sign LaRoche last winter and he chose Arizona and the O's wound up with Garrett Atkins (yikes)

I really don't see Konerko leaving the White Sox.

Beltre has expressed a desire to go back out west. Not really any teams outside of the Angels that could afford to sign him in the west however, and we don't know if he is on their radar.

Lee, Pena, Berkman could all be possible. We keep hearing if Dunn leaves the Nationals they will go after Pena. I could see Lee staying in Atlanta for another year and giving Freddy Freeman more time to develope. Berkman i could see the Orioles signing.
