Re: 2010 Hot Stove Thread

Agreed...I think V-Mart splitting catching with Wieters would be ideal, but I doubt he'd be down for it.

And if I were me, I'd stick Dunn at 1B if that's what it takes to sign him.

This is where things will get interesting for Theo Epstein. Not so much with Victor Martinez, but with Adrian Beltre. Beltre is going to want a multi-year deal, if the Sox are serious about going after Adrian Gonzalez next winter they can't lock themselves up with a 3 or 4 year contract with Beltre. I would like to see Beltre return for another season but if the Sox are talking to Youkilis about moving back to 3B they are probably doing more lip service than negotiating with Beltre.

I could see the Red Sox moving Youk to 3B and signing Adam LaRoche to fill in at 1B for next season and then go after Gonzalez or Prince Fielder in the FA market next winter.

I am in full agreement with you here. And I think that is in their better interest.

Re: 2010 Hot Stove Thread

Red Sox acquired Andrew Miller from Marlins. Just another former solid propsect they are trying to "revive". If Miller doesn't work out as a starter, I think he can be a solid bullpen guy.

I believe he will be bullpen. Sox seem pretty set on having their rotation set. But anything can happen in the Spring.

LOL Oakland, good luck with that.
A's need offense wherever they can get it. With Kouzmanoff at 3B maybe the A's view Encarnacion as a DH?.

Maybe Kouzmanoff is getting non-tendered
