Ja Out 1-2 Weeks

The injury luck that Memphis had last year may have ran out as Ja has a twisted knee. He is expected to miss 1-2 so its not a major injury. Without him in the lineup Stefan will get his 34 minutes and move into the starting lineup. Bane will jump into the rotation as will and get 19 minutes with a few more going to Melton. Memphis's next game is against Dallas where we will have more detailed look

Grizzles vs Mavs

This was going to be a tough game going up against the team that knocked you out of the playoffs without your best player. The 1st quarter saw Memphis down 8 points despite Mullin scoring 13 and Stefan dishing out 9 assist. It was still a 8 point game at half with Luke shooting just 3 of 12. The lead got down to 2 points with 8 minutes to go in the game. Luka hit a stepback 3 with 2 minutes to go. That made the lead 7 and Dallas would go to win the game.

Thybulle did his job on Luka holding him to 9 of 31 shooting using the same defense strategy as the last time. Overall the Memphis defense did fine holding Dallas to 107 points. It was the offense that struggled without Ja scoring just 96 points. Mullin did his part scoring 33 on 8 three's. Stefan was very good dishing out 18 assist on 5 turnovers and adding 14 points. Clark's shoot was awful and somehow JJJ didn't shoot much.

Jan 1st Memphis Update

Memphis season got off to a hot start they won 4 of their first 5 games. They have lost 3 of 4 lately making them 6 and 5 to start the year. From the stat side of things both Mullin and Jaren are scoring 21 a game. The big offseason move Warren is averaging 14 on 45% from 3. The 2nd year PG Stefan who has seen a increase in minutes the last few games without Ja. He is averaging 13 points and 9 assist

They are going to be a major problem I played them for a quarter and ending up losing the game. They have the 3 guys that will score 20 a game plus depth and role players like Adams and Bledsoe.

Feb. 1st - NBA Surprises & Disappointments

Lakers 21-4
Anthony Davis could win back to back MVP's as the Lakers have a 21 and 4 record.

Tatum Leading Scorer
Boston is off to a hot start and Tatum is leading the league in scoring with 29.8 a game.

Cavs In Playoff Hunt
They were easily in our tanking phase and starting 4 Xavier McDaniel got hurt the first week of the year. They are over achieving with a 13-13 record. Sexton is averaging 22 a game and Jarret Allen 16 & 13. This is bad news for Memphis who was hoping to sign Kevin Love in a buyout and have been keeping a roster spot open.



Houston Worst Team Ever ?
Houston was suppose to be bad and the front office didn't want to be embarrassing. So they signed veterans Frank Ntkilina and Garry Harris before the year started to make them at least competitive. It didn't work and they have won a hideous 2 games out of 25.

76ers Somehow Still Bad
Despite a great roster with veterans and youth they find themselves 8 games below 500. They owe 1st round picks in future years for moving off Al and Harris so they don't want to give up another one.

Time For Pacers To Tank ?
They are off to a slow start with a record of 7-20 which is last in the East. It may be time for them to sell off some veterans like Kemba, Mcdermitt, Brogdon and Levert.

Chris Paul to LA is a great realistic move, think for sure he'd team up with LeBron. That's a scary group with the Pels. WCF isn't getting any easier for you to advance through.
