Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Started a career legacy with North Florida using 07-08 roster. Has anybody had any success there?

I tried one out with them for a bit. It was long ago, but I do remember having one or two decent shooters. Good luck!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Hello everyone!

I posted my legacy where I did all simulation for 40 seasons earlier in the thread. I decided this time to actually play games and found some sliders that are actually competitive for me to play against the computer. I researched all of the career legacy teams and found that Alcorn State would be the biggest challenge for me to rebuild and gave me the best chance to do so right away. They have 8 scholarships available the first year so the rebuild can get started early. On to the seasons so far:

2007-2008
13-17 NO Postseason
Started off the season and cut 4 players from roster. Only have 8 scholarship players on the team. This will also open up scholarships for year 2.

2008-2009
9-21 NO Postseason
I brought in 8 newcomers to the team (6 *** Freshmen and 2 *** JC Players). Very little chemistry starting out, this was nothing more than a bridge year for me to get to next season.

2009-2010
23-10 SWAC Conference Tournament Champion & NCAA 1st Round
Brought in 4 newcomers to the team (3 *** Freshmen and **** Freshman #95 overall player). Made the NCAA Tournament due to a late run in the season and winning the conference tournament. We were no match for Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA, but making it there was huge for my young team.

2010-2011
24-12 SWAC Conference Tournament Champion & NCAA Elite 8
No newcomers to the team, but my team had 7 injuries throughout the season, making it very tough to find chemistry throughout the year. Finally found it again in the conference tourney. Went on a great run as the 14 seed in the NCAA tournament and lost to eventual champion Syracuse by 5. Had them down with under 3 minutes to go, but they just made everything coming down the stretch.

2011-2012
38-0 SWAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions & NCAA Champions
We added 2 newcomers to the team 2 *** Freshmen. They had a little impact on the season coming off the bench. The team returned every key player from last season to the team and it was legit a magical season. Never really challenged in the tournament. Had 2 great big men to lead me to the title. They averaged 47 ppg throughout the tourney.

2012-2013
31-1 SWAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions & NCAA 2nd Round
6 newcomers to the team this year. Brought in the #46 recruiting class comprised of 1 **** #38 player overall, 3*** and 2 **** JC players to help immediately. This team went undefeated through an easy regular season schedule, just wasn't up to the challenge in the NCAA.

2013-2014
31-1 SWAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions & NCAA Sweet 16
Bringing in 5 newcomers to the team 3 *** Freshmen 2 **** JC players and 1 **** Freshmen #50 overall player. Highest ranked recruiting class to date #28 overall. Team was very good and I think they were the best team I have had at Alcorn State. If I would have won the title this year I would have left no without a doubt for another school. We ran into Temple (31-3) in the sweet 16 and they manhandled us. Shooting 68% from the floor for the game, it was so frustrating to witness. In the offseason I was tempted to take the job at Northwestern since they have never been to the NCAA tourney but I decided to stay 1 more season at Alcorn State.

2014-2015
33-1 SWAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions & NCAA Elite 8
2 newcomers to the team *** World Recruit and **** Freshman #32 overall player. This team was so good all season and I almost hated knowing that I would be leaving them after the season. Finished #7 in the Polls, highest of any team I have had at Alcorn State. #2 seed in the NCAA and just ran into a good Washington team that took me out in the Elite 8.

After the season I looked at the open jobs. I really hit the jackpot waiting I think, since the defending national champion Florida State job was open.... I usually like to do rebuilds, but I took this job. It will be sort of a rebuild I think since they are losing 6 players and 4 of their starters it will be sort of a rebuild.

It is just amazing to me how this game stays fresh no matter how old it is. Hoping for some continued success at Florida State!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Year 2 at Winston Salem State went great. I don't really know why it went so great lol. We went 31-3 with losses vs Hampton, at Texas and in the 2nd Round to the 1 Seeded (and National Runner Up) Tennessee. The non con schedule wasn't a world beater but we did win at Wisconsin.

I didn't touch the sliders or difficulty from our 22-10 season the year before and it was largely the same team just a little bigger and younger.

I've gotten my attributes up too, I'm a B-, with A+ CHA, B- OFF/DEF.

The big shocker came after the season when a player from DUKE transferred in. I'm pretty sure it's Gerald Henderson and he's at an 88 but unfortunately I can't use him this year with the transfer rules. In recruiting we got what I worked for. Landing the #31 Center in the class and the #92 Shooting Guard, both of which being top #450 players.

So heading into year 3 we routed James Madison 72-36 (15 Minute Halves)

Starting Lineup/Rotation

PG- Lawson, 5'11" (RS SO) 60/ Clark 6'4" (JR) 61 (Lower handle and pass stats)
SG- Carter, 6'2" (SR) 67/ Rafiq 6'3" (SR) 67
G/F- Vrzina, 6'4" (FR) 65
PF- Sykes, 6'8" (RS SO) 62/ Faulkner 6'9" (RS SO) 58
C- Madera, 6'11" (FR) 66/ Tobias 6'10" (JR) 61

:Midseason Update..

Madera grew to 7'0" and Tobias 6'11" in the offseason.

Anyways our season so far has went okay. 7-1 (1-0). We won at Minnesota 77-42 (37-15 in the 2nd half), We defeated Rutgers 66-52 at home and defeated Hofstra 68-50 on the road. Our loss came in our preseason tournament final vs Jacksonville. A very frustrating game, leading by 13 at the half we imploded in the 2nd half. We hit 2 threes total in the game (2/12) while they went 8/18. Led by our star Freshmen Center (27 Pts, 13 Rebs) along with our Junior backup Center (16 Pts, 7 Rebs) we hung in late and climbed back into the game with under a minute left. Then down 70-68 with under 20 to go we got a dead open 3 for our Starting SG but of course he missed. We lost 74-68 and my hopes for an undefeated regular season was dashed.

Stats Leaders: (30 Minute Games)

Madera (C) 21.6 PPG/ 10.8 RPG
Tobias (C) 10.8 PPG/ 8.0 RPG
Vrzina (G) 9.8 PPG/ 5.6 APG
Lawson (G) 2.3 PPG/ 5.0 APG
Carter (G) 8.7 PPG

I was hoping to land some recruits in the early period but we came up short, one of them was so close to being 100. But we should get them all in the end. The class is led by a 3 Star SF (#26/#130) who we're the only one really going for.

So anyone know how you earn more attribute points for my coach? Is it by those achievements? Or is it always 5?

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Two things:

1. I find it funny that Gerald Henderson, Jr. transferred to your team because he transferred to my Weber State team. He sat out for the year and then went pro! I never got to play with him on Weber State. Huge loss! Especially considering I would've had him as a senior and Damian Lillard as a junior.

2. You can only get 5 coaching points per year. They will roll over. By this I mean, if you happen to do 13 achievements in your first year, you will get 5 points that year and the other 8 will roll over to the next two years. (5, 5, 3).

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Year 3 in the books. A rather bleh year all told. We started 25-1 before dropping a road game at Morgan State (Which was me overlooking an opponent) and finished the regular season at 28-2 (17-1). We lost our conference tournament opener (another case of overlooking and opponent and total bs) but still got an at large bid as the 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament where we met Tennessee in the first round and that didn't go well. So year 3 we finished 28-4.

So thru 3 years I've went- 22-10/31-3/28-4.

Recruiting went great, we landed the #130 player in the class, 3* SF. the #208 player in the class, 3* PG. the #304 player in the class, 3* PF and we brought in from Cameroon a 4* PF. We lost 3 of my 4 SG's to graduation and Gerald Henderson went pro (why bother transferring?). And losing my SG's meant we lost all of our 3 point shooting, which I didn't rely too much on but still. Now our freshmen PG is a 74 from 3 and our freshmen SF is a 68 and that's as good as it gets for us.

Year 4 Starters/Rotation:

PG- (Forgot name), FR, 71 (74 with Confidence boost)/ Lawson, JR, 65 (67)
SG- Vrzina, SO, 68 (70)
SF- Laws, FR, 74 (77)/ Sykes, JR, 66 (68)
PF- Christianson, FR, 71 (74)/ (Forgot name), FR, 69 (71)
C- Madera, SO, 68 (70)/ Tobias, SR, 64 (66)

I wanted to toughen up our schedule this year so I took out all but one game and made out non con like this: (I've played first 2)

vs Florida Gulf Coast (103-49 W)

(Paradise Jam)
vs #9 Cincinnati (80-57 W)
vs Missouri State (? I think)
vs #1 Duke (We make the title game)

at North Carolina
at Charlotte
vs Wake Forest
at #1 Duke (Didn't expect to play them in tournament)
at Oklahoma.

I really wanna get ranked do I can get that attribute point.

Speaking of which, I got 3 last year. Got defense to a B+ and Teaching to a C. I'm still a B- overall. Anyone who's gotten Duke know what I'll need to be for that?

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Does anyone have a legacy tracking spreadsheet they'd like to share? I'm only have a few more years left in mine, but wanted to get a head start with it, because I start a new one. Thanks.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm in the 2015-2016 season with Portland. Lost my first game out of 6 to Michigan in the Maui Invitational Championship game. I already have big wins over Miss St and Wake Forest. We lost to Loyola Marymount in the semifinals of the WCC tournament last season, missing the NCAAs for the second year in a row. I'm leading a team of sophomores and freshman this year and they are tough.
