Week 6 Houston @ Bristol Bay

Johnson Steps All Over The Vipers Heart

Houston star wide-out Andre Johnson takes his game to a whole new level. He single handley broke The Vipers sprite, and crushed the hopes of all The Vipers fans. Johnson caught 3 touchdown passes from Matt Schaub who also had a great. Johnson finished the game with 8 catches, 172 yards, 3 touchdowns and the last one was what hurt the fans the most. With less than 5 minutes left and the game pretty much over, Houston went right back to the air and hit Andre Johnson for a 42 yard touchdown pass. Some are saying it was to prove a point and others are saying it was to padded Schaub's and Johnson stats, but it was uncalled for.

The Vipers had a chance at the start of the 3rd quarter, after they scored a lucky hail mary pass to Travontae Edwards right before halftime, but Houston defense forced an interception, which later turned into a touchdown and it ended Bristol Bays chances of making a comeback.

The Vipers new addition Ray Edwards did almost next to nothing, he recorded only 1 tackle and with him in the line-up The Vipers still didnt get any pressure on Matt Schaub, who only was hit 2 times all game.

The Vipers offense also didnt do anything, but they did set a record that no one wants to set, their wide receivers dropped a record 13 passes in todays game. You cant win if you cant catch the ball. The Vipers hope next week will being better luck, or it will be a long season.

Week 7 Chicago @ Bristol Bay

Bears Fight Off Comeback

It was a shoot out on a cold Sunday afternoon at Bristol Bay Memorial. It was around 18 degrees, but that didnt affect either teams. The Vipers came out looking to take the up-hand and crush The Bears hearts right away. Jay Randolph hit Travontae Edwards on a quick slant, Edwards made Brian Urlacher look like a high school freshman and almost broke his ankles with one of the sickest spin moves ever. Edwards ended up taking the pass 65 yards for a touchdown.

The Vipers fell behind going into half-time, 21-17. The Bears continued to put even more distants between them with a scoring drive to open up the 3rd quarter. Then The Vipers fumble inside The Bears redzone, ending a chance to make the game close again.

The Bears took The Vipers mistake and drove it right down their throats, they capped it off with Jay Cutler's 3rd touchdown pass. The Bears took a 35-17 lead into the 4th quarter, but The Bears let their guard down.

The 4th quarter started with The Vipers on The Bears 30 yard line, not even seconds into the 4th quarter Jay Randolph hit Travontae Edwards on a perfect pass between 2 defensive backs for a touchdown, closing the lead to 11. The Vipers got the ball back with just over 6 minutes left, and ran the no huddle to perfection. The Vipers took the ball all the way down to the 9 yard line when Tony Goosen broke off his 1st touchdown run of the game.

The Bears add a field goal giving them a 7 point lead with just over 2 minutes left. The Vipers have a chance to tie the game late but a tipped pass fell into Charles Tillmans hands to end the game and doom The Vipers.

Week 9 Baltimore @ Bristol Bay

Coach's Call Costs Vipers The Game

On a cold, windy day in Alaska, Coach Cowher costs his team the game. With just seconds remaining in the 4th quarter down by 3 points, The Vipers had a 4th and goal on The Ravens 1 yard line, instead of kicking the field goal and taking the game into overtime, Cowher chose to go for the win and went with a quarterback keeper but Ray Lewis came up with a big stop.

With the ball and almost no time left, The Ravens gave the ball to Willis McGahee who instead of running out the clock, wanted to break records. McGahee broke out of a pile of 5 Viper defenders, to break a 96 yard touchdown run, giving him a total of 301 rushing yards to break Adrian Peterson record of 296 yards.

The Vipers may be mad at what their Coach called at the end of the game but they have to look at the good, they run the ball affectley, 37 rushes for 253 yards, thats the most they have had all year. Also the offensive line gave up no sacks for the first time all year. The Vipers look like they are improving in bunches.

Tony Goosen kept The Vipers in the game and gave them the lead at the start of the 3rd quarter with a season long 80 yard touchdown run to give them a 21-17 lead which didnt last. Goosen finished the game with a career high 26 rushes for 170 yards and added 2 touchdowns to his league leading 6.

Coach Cowher said after the game, "We play to win the game, in my book overtime counts as a loss, thats why i went for it. I dont know how we cant get one yard to win a game."
