I'm just now seeing this! This sounds like an awesome idea, and something that would add to the game. But, how do you figure percentages? How do you determine who gets suspended? Are their dice involved?

I gave each team the same percent chance to have a player suspended. And each player has the same chance as well. Percentages come into play for how many players are suspended in a year. I have 2 as the most common and 1 being more common than 3. I dont remember the exact percentages i used. As for who its just a random number between 1 and 25. If 14 comes up then the 14th best player by OVR gets suspended for whatever team. Excel handles all of it so all i have to do is press F9 and it will randomize the sheet again.

Although the Swisher and DeAza pickups were helpful in scoring more runs for me, it's been the pitching staff that's helped me with a 17-10 record for the month of June and put me back into post season dreams. <b>Three separate times I won by the score of 1-0 in June.</b> The bullpen has been stellar! Wheeler has turned it around and has been on a hot streak, and with him, Harvey, and deGrom, we managed to pick up quite a few games on the Marlins who are running into tough times by losing the last 7 in a row. Washington has also picked it up and have now taken over 1st as we head into July.

Monster Year so far in my franchise? Miguel Cabrera. See stats below.

Quick Update:
The Milwaukee Brewers have been playing well, winning 7 of their last 10 ballgames bringing them to just 2 under .500 at 66-68. Remarkably the Brewers have done very well after the trades of both Matt Garza and Kyle Lohse. Although due to crippling injuries and other problems, the playoff outlook is slim to none pending a 2007 Colorado Rockies kind of comeback.

I am very excited however to truly start the "Build" of the team once the offseason begins. Meaning I can finally act on the moves that I made all season and put a game plan together for how to attack the next two seasons. With players like Jeff Hoffman and Zach Davies aiming to be a part of the rotation, I am very excited to continue this journey in America's Dairy Land.

So, I'll have Addison Russell play short (his original position) and give Baez some time at 2nd. Lastella is a liability in the lineup anyways so he'll be on the bench.

Rizzo leads the league in HR and is second in RBIs. Bryant is right behind him in RBIs out of the 2-hole in the lineup. Cole Hammels leads the league in ERA and is second in wins. Arietta and Dan Haren are both struggling with ERAs over 4 and few wins. Hendricks is picking up the slack as the 5th starter. He might get the nod in the playoffs if we get there, and Haren in the BP.

So, oops, I meant Jason Hammel not Cole Hammels, and now that I wrote that, he's gone completely cold. He still has an ERA under 2.50, but hasn't had a win in the last 3 starts.

Things have sort of flattened out now. We are treading water at 43-42 now, 5 games behind 1st place PIT and 3 behind 2nd place STL. Baez took some time to get going. He was batting under .150 for his first 5 games as a starter, but now is on a tear. His average is up near .300 now.

Arietta continues to struggle. Playoffs or no, we might not re-sign him. Hendricks is developing nicely, and we have a couple of guys at AAA that might be able to start next year, plus there's always free agency.

So, the way the season is unfolding right now, I would say we're a year away from really competing for the division, and maybe 2 years away from a pennant. That doesn't mean we're going to shut it down in late June, but we have too many young mistakes both in the field and at the plate. When we face excellent pitching, we can't seem to string any hits together, and the bullpen is just not great.

We need one more speed guy, some LHP in the bullpen, and maybe one more quality starter, and then we can start to make some noise.

Update Labor Day, 2015:
The Milwaukee Brewers after a seemingly powerful run in recent days, have been shut down yet again by the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark losing both Game 1 and Game 3 of the series, all 3 games however.. pitching struggled. The Brewers again failed to reach .500 when coming within a game of being there. Also, continuing to struggle on the road as they have all season.
The Crew will head out to Miami for a 3 game series with the Miami Marlins and then head out to Pittsburgh for a 4 game road series to conclude the Road Trip and the Week.

Another Update will come after the Marlins series, and I plan to update after each series until the end of the season.

i have a 20 game lead in the NL East with the Marlins. i have reduced my magic number to 10 to clinch the division. So somewhere over the next 10 games i will have that accomplished i would think.

What really sucks is that i am getting ready to start a series against my team in real life, the Oakland A's. Who just so happen to lead the AL Wild Card race. I dont' want to see them lose their top spot in the race but this is baseball not tidily winks lol...

When i win the division i will have checked off one of the owners boxes for contract expectations. The other one since i did it in 14 (carry over franchise) is to win the world series.

Max Scherzer has been struggling lately for me in the month of August. He has either lost or had a no decision in several of his games this month. Doug Fister actually pitched very well for me in his last start, eight solid innings.


i have 4 of my 5 starting pitchers with over 15 wins with a month to play. Scherzer should go on to win the Cy Young and MVP (nice move SCEA... to allow that... awesome... love it keep it up)

So i have one month to play, with my work schedule being what it is i will hopefully finish the season around the same time as the real season i think... will keep you updated...

My Cubs hit the all-star break at 45-45. Not bad considering the 8-17 start, but not great.

I play about 50% of the games while simming the rest, but I played the last 4 before the break, going 2-2. Rondon blew 2 saves and we lost both in extra innings. I almost never blow saves when pitching myself so it was quite frustrating, even more so because it was the White Sox.

The bullpen is a real issue right now, as is clutch hitting. I don't know what the second half will bring, but it better bring some more wins and better pitching out of the pen or some guys are going to be looking for jobs.

So since my last update I have clinched the NL east. I'm currently at 91 wins with 4 left to play. The Nats are in second, 10 games behind me and 2 out of the second wildcard spot. Around the rest of the NL, the Cards lead the central, the Dodgers lead the west and the Brewers and Padres currently have the two wildcard spots.

Over in the AL it's the Red Sox in the east, the Royals in the central and the A's in the west with the wildcard spots going to the Yankees and Mariners.

I'm gonna skip Cole Hamels last start of the year so he can pitch game 1 of the NLDS. Starting in his spot will be Jesse Biddle, as he will be making his first career big league start. Aaron Nola has been with the club since July, and he has been very impressive, going 5-1 with an era under 3.

Also, Darin Ruff returns just in time for the postseason as he has missed the last 2 months with a broken hand. He had 24 homers before being injured and hit .274, so his power will be a welcome presence in the middle of the lineup.

Detroit came into this game having won only once so far in the month of July. In a series against the division-rival Twins, they would need to take as many victories as they could. Detroit got all the run support they need from Anthony Gose and J.D. Martinez, who both hit two-run homers, in the 5th and 6th innings, respectively. Those four runs were plenty for Anibal Sanchez, who pitched four-hit ball over eight innings of work, striking out nine and not allowing a walk. Sanchez (10-1) lowered his league-leading ERA to 1.43 on the season. The Tigers (54-33) will need more wins like this, heading into the All-Star break, to widen their lead in the AL Central, which currently sits at 10.5 games over both the Twins and the Royals.

Starting July on a miserable note as the Cubs take 2 of 3 and the series.

Cuddyer still raking for me as he hits # 200.

1st game on this Cali road trip and I have to face Kershaw. However, I also have an ace. The daily ups and downs in this game is fantastic!

It's July 4th, and now I have Grienke, so i'm taking a break to look at what my Jets will look like....

JBoomer's Rockies Issue #3 - September 2016

My last update, I was 56-49 at the end of July.
-Leading the Wildcard, and only 2 games back of LAD.

Now with only 5 games to go in the season,
- I sit 78-79, 12.5 Back of LAD, and 5.5 back in the Wild-Card.

What went wrong?? Well, I cant say it surprised me. All season my offense was forced to carry my weak pitching staff, as it continually sat in the bottom 5 in the MLB in ERA. Before the Deadline, I acquired Arrieta from the Cubs, and he provided no savior, also Tim Stauffer came over from KC with a Sub-2 ERA, and also struggled.

As the offseason looms, Im not sure where I will go with the team.

The rotation will likely sit tight, as I have 2017 control over all of the following 5,with the only difference I see being giving the 5th spot permanently to Appel over Kendrick.

2. Jon Gray
3. Jake Arrieta
4. Eddie Butler
5. Mark Appel

With the line-up, I will most likely try to resign Lucroy before he hits free agency, after his very solid season. (.279/.348/.449)

But two disappointments being Cargo and Tulo. Each were lower than what I would expect. I regularly had them batting 5th and 6th, favoring guys like Lucroy, Dickerson, and Arenado. I'd like to part with one or both of two stars, but what kind of return should I get or expect? Ive never attempted a trade at that level.

I will update again in the offseason as I approach spring training. Any insight or comments are appreciated

Brewers Update: September 4th, 2015
The Milwaukee Brewers rebound from a rough Reds series to take 2 out of 3 from the Miami Marlins, the 3rd place team in the Wild Card race. However poor starting pitching in the finale by R.A. Dickey and a complete offensive shutdown against All-Star Jose Fernandez proved to be costly for the Brewers as they fall under .500 just one day after reaching it down to 69-70.

The Brewers head out to Pittsburgh for a 4 game series on the Road against the Pirates.
In Game 1, Struggling Starting Pitcher Brandon Finnegan (who will be making his first start since september call ups) (0-3, 5.69 ERA) will take on Ace Gerit Cole as the Brewers try to inch ever closer to the elusive Wild Card.
