After a 15-12 slugfest against the Brewers, a game that could have been much worse (thanks John Danks) Management has decided to make a trade. John Danks SP(77), Brooks Brown RP(72) and Scott Schebler LF(67) have been traded to the Atlanta Braves (Record ). The Braves sent over two prospects. Relief Pitcher: Brandon Peterson, RHP age 24, 61ovr/Bpot and Starting Pitcher: Trevor Williams, RHP age 23, 64ovr/Bpot. This trade accomplishes two things. 1) Gets some mid-range prospects back into a system that is currently lacking and 2) Nets about 3.5 million in salary relief.
Heading into the trade, the highest potential prospect in our system was B, and there were not too many. Henry Owens 74 ovr/Bpot (now promoted into the 5th starters slot and enjoying a 2 ovr boost) was the top prospect. Jake Thompson 70/B, Clay Holmes 50/B, Brett Phillips 67/B and Kaleb Cowart 67/C are now joined by the two new pitchers adding a little more depth to the minors.
This is all for me in regards to game updates / franchise progress. I will be updating again when I return from my trip Monday evening. Keep up the posts!!
