I consider all of that playing through the rotation once. After I did that once I brought Beltre back, sent Rua down to AAA and my lineup looks like:

    1. CF CarGo
    2. DH Choo
    3. RF Mazara
    4. 3B Beltre
    5. 2B Odor
    6. 1B Napoli
    7. LF Gallo
    8. C Lucroy
    9. SS Andrus

    Bench:
    Chirinos
    DeShields
    Profar

Ever since I brought Beltre back I played the Darvish start and won every game through his rotation now I'm at Hamels. Looks like the bats are doing great and pitching has been solid. Once I get through the rotation a second time I'll probably add Tyson Ross to the rotation and send Hauschild down and make AJ Griffin my long reliever.

Now I have to decide whether I want to stick with what I've got the rest of the season and eventually bring back Diekman the third time through (who is doing terribly in AAA in the game for me.) My bullpen lacks talent but hasn't played terribly outside of Claudio (but he plays really well when I'm using him.) I might call up Diekman eventually and send down Claudio, but I'm thinking about keeping Claudio up idk. Might even consider packaging Diekman for another reliever, maybe a righty. Right now Sam Dyson is in AAA as a closer, I might just keep him and Diekman where they are.

With Gallo earning the everyday spot at LF in the game (and probably real life too) I don't know what I'm going to do with Profar, who isn't much of a left fielder anyways. Right now he's being used as a utility guy off the bench but I do feel like I don't need him now that Drew Robinson is on the roster and can possibly come in and feel that role.

Another issue I have is Lucroy wants to be in a star position in the lineup which isn't going to happen and his rating is way low as a result. Chirinos wants an everyday position in the lineup and he's not even going to platoon for me. With Lucroy being an issue for me next year I've considered packaging him and potentially Profar. I think Chirinos would be a solid starter like he was in the past bc he can hit for power and he's got a good arm. Of course playing Lucroy at 1st base some next year is also a slight possibility, although idk if that makes a lot of sense.

One trade idea I came up with is Choo/Profar/Lucroy for Giancarlo Stanton. For starters it definitely isn't a very realistic trade. And while I'm a big Stanton fan I might want to start a Marlins franchise eventually so idk if that's the direction I want to go in. In the other hand, it would move Mazara to left, Gallo to 1st, allow me to call up Robinson, and give Chirinos the everyday start at catcher (I can sign Bryan Holaday to come back to Texas as a backup who doesn't expect to platoon or start.) Giancarlo would be my right fielder and Napoli would take over at DH. That would make my lineup something like:

    1. CF Carlos Gomez
    2. SS Elvis Andrus
    3. RF Giancarlo Stanton
    4. 3B Adrian Beltre
    5. LF Nomar Mazara
    6. 2B Rougned Odor
    7. DH Mike Napoli
    8. 1B Joey Gallo
    9. C Robinson Chirinos

Looks like a pretty solid lineup although I'd have to play around with it. Any ideas or suggestions as of what moves to make/not to make in the near future?

I play as the Rangers as I'm a Rangers fan. Here is a realistic trade you could do in place of the Stanton deal as you're right, it's pretty unrealistic.

    Tex Receives
    Eric Hosmer

    KC Receives
    Jurickson Profar
    Ronald Guzman
    Matt Smoral

You get a much better permanent situation at first base. Hosmer will hit between 25-30 homers a year at Globe Life. You will have to resign him at the end of 2017 though. Then your lineup looks like this:

    CF - Carlos Gomez
    2B - Rougned Odor
    LF - Joey Gallo
    DH - Napoli/Choo
    3B - Adrian Beltre
    1B - Eric Hosmer
    C - Jonathan Lucroy
    RF - Nomar Mazara
    SS - Elvis Andrus

I'm not using the OSFM rosters, so Guzman/Smoral are out of the question but I'm sure I could package a couple decent fake similar prospects with Profar for Hosmer. It would definitely make more sense. One thing that would drive me crazy is that Hosmer and Hamels are both #35 so Hosmer would be #36 which drives me nuts (it's a numbers OCD thing).

I could attempt to go after an 8th inning guy with closer stuff like a Betances/Miller type.

2 blown saves in a row against the Nats with 2 different relief pitchers. I almost broke my controller. I called up Jake Thompson from AA to try him as my closer. Final game of the series I have another save opportunity at4-3. Thompson retires all 3 in order. Hopefully I solved that problem.

Well this playb1 sim 5 moves the franchise along rather quickly and my Twins are struggling. I don't what the record is for fewest games won in a month but we tried to break it in may.

            May Record
            9-19

            Overall Record
            20-32

            PITCHING
Ervin Santana continues to be my best starting pitcher with a 6-3 record on thee year and a 2.96 ERA. I sent down Tyler Duffy at the start of May and his replacement Stephen Gonsalves is 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA although I haven't got to pitch with him yet he is looking solid. Kyle Gibson sits at 3-2 while Hector Santiago and Phil Hughes are both a rough 1-5. I did get Hughes' first win in a pretty phenomenal pitching performance in my last played game if May (8.1 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER, 7 SO)

            BATTING
Sano continues to be our power bet, as he is now up to 17 HR on the year which is good for 3rd in the AL and 4th in the majors. Mauer has picked it up a bit (.208) but I still struggle to hit with him. Eddie Rosario has our best average at .346 but was bitten by the Injury bug and is on the 60 day DL with a torn hamstring.

            First year player draft
We had the first overall pick, here's how it went.
            1.Randy Bollinger 2B 68 POT
            2.Edgar Gutierrez SP 88 POT
            3.Bonny Ryder 1B 79 POT
            4.Akinori Ohka RP 69 POT
            5.Deandre Brown RP 82 POT

              *Carryover from 2015*

After coming off the first season in 3 years that the Athletics didn't make the playoffs the 2020 A's are geared up to make the trip back. Powered by the trio of Dominic Costa, Wil Myers, and last seasons big free agent pickup Bryce Harper Oakland is hoping to right the ship. The pitching staff is anchored by ace Jesse Hahn, a 19 game winner in 2019.

Through the first two months of the season Oakland sits at 26-24 and are currently a 1/2 game behind Seattle for first.

Here is how lineup and stats shake out.

              Batting:
              1. 2B Dominic Costa .321/16/42
              2. CF Mel Rojas .285/4/12
              3. LF Wil Myers .297/7/26
              4. 1B Matt Olson .259/18/43
              5. RF Bryce Harper .286/6/14
              6. SS Francisco Lindor .306/3/10
              7. DH Marlon Andrews .282/3/10
              8. C Yan Gomes .295/4/16
              9. 3B Matt Chapman .224/ 4/10

              Pitching:
              1. Jesse Hahn 4-3/ 4.05 era/ 1.02 whip
              2. Michael Santos 3-1/ 2.39 era/ 1.06 whip
              3. Raul Alcantara 1-2/ 4.30 era/ 1.30 whip
              4. Kyle Finnegan 5-1/ 2.67 era/ 1.07 whip
              5. Ty Blach 5-2/ 1.92 era/ 1.07 whip

              CP Dellin Betances 10sv/ 3.86 era/ 1.03 whip

Made a couple tough decisions after losing to the Cubs. Finished April 1.5 games back. Absolutely no faith in my bullpen and my starting pitchers have struggled beyond 5 innings.

There wasn't much of a need for a top 10 ish closer like Iglesias, so I traded him to the Diamondbacks to take over for Rodney. Moved Storen to closer for the meantime. I got David Peralta in the deal and another prospect.

Also traded Meseraco to the Astros for Gattis as he was slumping and I needed a change.

The best part about the trades is that they made me actually enjoy the makeup of this team quite a bit more. Considering I got a few more games in last night and overtook the Cubs I think there is good reason for that.

We have dropped our last two games, to fall back to .500 at 8-8. Last the series finale to the Pirates 5-2 after Leake had a breakdown in the 6th. Our only offense was a 2 run homer by Peralta. Other than that we were shut down.

Lost the first of four to the Cubs in Wrigley 1-0. Jake Arrieta absolutely mowed us down. Wainwright pitched extremely well but again lost (0-3 on season). It was his first outing past 6 innings this season.

Next up is Michael Wacha vs Jon Lester. Hopefully we can bounce back and snap this skid we are currently on.

My Rangers are 24-36 and 14.5 games back from 1st place. I just called up Tyson Ross and he hasn't gotten his first start yet, but is it time for a fire sale? The games I'm playing I'm getting mashed I've played 10 games and lost all but like 2 (I was hitting a lot better on this difficulty a couple of weeks ago, could this just be a momentum thing where the Rangers are playing that bad in the game that it translates to me not doing well?) I mean most nights I'm getting a couple of runs but some nights I'm not getting any. Last game I put up 4 against the Astros but they mashed AJ Griffin and Mike Hauschild and had like 13 runs.

I feel like a lot of balls I'm getting really good contact and I either foul them or hit a fly out. Joey Gallo has mashed a few that didn't go anywhere, like literally home run swings that were easily caught bloopers, I don't get it Yu Darvish is the only starter with an ERA under 4 (it's like 3 something) so I have no idea what to do about that. I guess it kind of is what it is.

Any trade ideas are welcome. I'll probably play through the rotation one more time and if I'm not starting to catch up back to first place I'm thinking about making some trades. Idk what, but I've got to do something. If I start winning some games maybe it's time for something unrealistic like the Stanton trade. If not, I need some ideas to get some prospects (there aren't a lot available bc I'm not using OSFM but I've got to figure something out.)

Started up my Rays franchise last night since the new patch dropped. Lost 2 of the first 3 to the Yankees.

Game 1 WIN 6-5 (walkoff by Longoria)
                        Game 2 LOSS 6-5
                        Game 3 LOSS 2-1

I am looking forward to this season.

Bought a copy on sunday and inmediately began a franchise with the Yanks. Hoping to play all 162 games!

                          Game 1 @TB: Won 4-1
                          Game 2 @TB: Lost 5-1
                          Game 3 @TB: Lost 5-2

                          Game 4 @BAL: Won 2-0
Game 5 @BAL: Won 7-6 (thrilling game, losing 5-0 in the 2nd and made the comeback)
                          Game 6 @BAL: SWEEP! Won 4-2

Through 6 games we are 4-2, pitching has been the strongest side so far. Hitting not so much, aside from that game 5 sudden run outburst, but still have lot of confidence in the team.

Aaron Judge leads the team in HR's with 3 and Aaron Hicks leads the team in hits.

We begin a three game series at home (Opening Day for us!) against the Rays.

I'm trying out a sabermetric lineup to see if that gets me anywhere.

                            1. DH Choo (Highest career OBP)
                            2. 1B Napoli (1-3 highest career OBP)
                            3. SS Andrus (5th highest career OBP)
                            4. 3B Beltre (Highest SLG)
                            5. C Lucroy (4th highest career OBP)
                            6. RF Mazara
                            7. CF Gomez
                            8. LF Gallo
                            9. 2B Odor

6-9 in order of highest career OBP.

Idk if that's a great sabermetric lineup, if anyone could put together a better one that would be great. Especially if I can get one with the DH and without (Choo isn't in my lineup when he's not the DH). It would be great if Lucroy and Beltre both could be incorporate in a star spot (1, 3, or 4.) It seems like the #4 spot is great for Beltre, but Lucroy is not happy if he's not in star position.

I just wrapped up my first regular season on '17, going on roughly a play 1 sim 5 method (I played 32 full games in the end). Playing as the Red Sox I finished with a 105-57 record which definitely flattered me, my sim results were absolutely fantastic. In my 32 games played I had a record of 18 - 14 playing on All Star Hitting and HOF pitching, also using Armour & Sword and Marino's sliders.

Mookie Betts had a fantastic year, picking up the AL MVP award slashing .320/.382/.635 with 42 HRs, 44 2Bs, 124 RBIs. He was the league leader in RBIs, and placed second in both BA and HRs so came agonisingly close to a historic triple crown. It goes without saying, but a lucrative long-term extension may be in his near future.

Chris Sale's first season in Boston couldn't have gone better as he pitched to a 15-5 record with a 2.58 ERA and 251 strike outs! He picked up the Cy Young despite a dominant season for Corey Kluber who had a 2.02 ERA. Unfortunately, I started this 'chise without thinking of the contracts and Sale will hit FA after the season ends. I'm not sure if i'll be able to retain him.

David Price finished the season with a miserable 4.65 ERA, which certainly isn't in line with his salary. All of Boston will be hoping he can bounce back for the postseason...not get worse. Jackie Bradley Jr followed up his breakout season horrifically, hitting .238/.319/.427, however his defense was as per usual fantastic.

The Dodgers had the majors best record with 110-52, with Corey Seager picking up NL MVP hitting .323, blasting 48 bombs and driving in 135! Unfortunately, he too missed out on a triple crown after Freddie Freeman hit 51 HRs for Atlanta and Paul Goldschmidt hit an impressive .335. Kershaw (who else?) picked up Cy Young honours with an absurd 20-4 record, a minuscule 1.65 ERA and 262 strike outs. Going into the post season the Dodgers are the clear favourites for the World Series.

Boston will be facing a Kansas City team led by Eric Hosmer in the ALDS. The real fun begins now with some October baseball!

After destroying the Yankees 7-1 with 5 home runs. Oakland headed to Cleveland and was promptly no hit in the opening game of the series.

The A's currently sit in 2nd place at 26-25.
