Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
You should go check out the trade discussion thread, they are really helpful and give you an idea on how much a player is worth. They're also pretty big on realism as well so I think they'll give you a solid answer

What slider settings is everyone using for injuries? First season I had very few injuries on 6 bars, now Ive upped it to 7 and am getting a heap.
Also, has anyone else noticed that position players and pitchers are tiring more dramatically and recovering slower from game to game post the latest patch?

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
End of May - 2018
Well May didnt go all that well. Came into the month 13-13. And we end it at 23-30 after going 10-17.We have won 3 straight and 4 of our last 6 though. We have 28 games in June. 18 of those are going to be on road. As of now we wont face a team with a winning record until June 29th when we travel to Detroit.
We are still 29th in run scored with 181 (90 in May). Only the A's have less with 171. Our team average has dropped to .250 (22nd). Our On-Base % dropped to .297. Last in the Majors. And our Slugging % has dropped to .394 (22nd) We still have the least amount of strikeouts though with only 356. St. Louis is 2nd with 366. Of our qualified players Raul Mondesi still leads in AVG at .306. This may went a lot better than his 2017 May did so hopefully he can continue to hit the ball well. Salvador Perez returned from the DL on May 12th. In 17 games since then he has hit .403/.423/.612 with 4 HR and 11 RBI. Jorge Soler leads the team with 9 HR in 179 at bats and has just 16 RBI. I moved Mike Moustakas to the lead off spot and he is hitting .280/.336/.456 with 7 HR and 25 RBI. Hunter Dozier has been struggling so I decided to sit him for a game on May 26th. In the 5 games since then he has went 10 for 18 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. Overall he is hitting .286/.340/.481 with 6 HR and 18 RBI.
Pitching also took a turn for the worse. Team ERA now sits at 4.26, 25th overall. Jason Hammel and Matt Strahm still have ERA's under 3 (2.67 and 2.77). Danny Duffy has struggled his last few starts. ERA is up to 3.73 after entering may at 2.87. Mike Minor's ERA jumped from 3.58 to 4.97. And Tyler Beede hasnt exactly set the world on fire through his first 5 starts. He has a 7.77 ERA in 24.1 IP. He gets a bit of a break through. In his first start he gave up 9 runs against the Orioles. All in the 4th inning. Bull pen wasnt exactly rested so he had to go as long as possible. Even without that game his ERA is still over 5. Out in the bullpen Travis Wood has the lowest ERA at 1.44 wtih a 0.76 WHIP in 25 IP. Josh Staumont has been has been great since coming up. 2.16 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 25 IP as the long reliever. Ryan Webb (2.73) and Brian Flynn (2.83) are the only other guys with an ERA under 3. Sori and Seth Maness both have an ERA over 8. And Herrera rounds out the pen with a 5.50 ERA in 18 IP with 11 saves.
Kyle Zimmer has pitched in 5 games for AAA Omaha. He has a 2.43 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 33.1 IP. Him and Tyler Beede will both pitch on June 2nd. Depending on how things go Zimmer could come back up and Beede could go back down. Nate Karns has also been good after being demoted. 2.84 ERA in 31.2 IP. WHIP is fairly high though at 1.58. Ryan McLain is a lot closer to making his debut if things keep going like they are. He is hitting .317/.392/.406. Zane Evans could also be looking at a promotion to try and get the offense going. He leads the team with a .336 AVG to go along with 6 HR and 28 RBI. Down in AA Austin Prado our 2017 draft stud SP found him self on the DL with a strained shoulder. Should be back within the next week though. He is 5-1 with a 1.28 ERA in 63.1 IP.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
In real life, the lower minors are STACKED with talent, unfortunately however, a lot of them did not make it into OSMF since they are all so far away and no where near contributing so if you wanted them all you'd have to do some tweaking, or I could throw something together for you real quick and put it in the vault. The ballpark is also one of the tops in the league as mentioned.Florida Gators - San Diego PadresComment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
Try bumping it up a couple. I get a lot of injuries but from looking at the real life current DL lists the numbers are about right . I think.... it is enjoyable (albeit frustrating sometimes) managing injuries and testing your team's depth. And at least the same settings apply for all the teams in the comp.Comment

MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
In my franchise the Dodgers are back to winning ways in 2018 with a very solid May. We are now second, half a game behind to the bastard giants - got a similar feel to ladt year again where the won the division by a game, but we knocked them out of the NLCS in game seven away at AT&T. Went on a 12 game winning streak and Seager's numbers have sky rocketed averaging .348. Rich Hill is declining and is now in the bullpen with Ross Stripling getting a start while Brendon McCarthy is on the long term DL and Alex Wood fails miserably in AAA.
My bullpen leaks runs like a rusty bucket. As soon as I turn to them things all the great work by the starters is undone, except for Kenley Jansen who is a machine. Im eyeing off a couple of 2019 free agents to add to our roster and will likely trade in someone decent around the trade deadline.
Avilan, Fields, Garcia have been horrible.

Whenever I turn up the injury slider the only increase in players that get hurt are in the minors. My DL is littered with hurt minor leaguers and zero guys from the big club. So that kinda defeats the purpose, for me at least, so I just lowered it back to default.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
Last 2 years playing 15 I have had key injuries. The team has been healthy through the mid season point this year on 16/17.
Took a few days off playing but got a game in today beating the Braves who have the best pitching in the league now 6-1. We move to 48-27 on the year. Chipping away at playing all 162.
Had 3 steals in the game a new personal best. Haven't played a ton but seems like both teams are hitting the ball better post patches. Typical Matt Moore performance for me, gave up 12 hits combine but only allowed 1 run.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread
Just started my Yankees franchise with the new hybrid rosters. Been messing around but can't seem to find a lineup that works. Don't really have that number 3 hitter. Thinking of this lineup DH RHP
Ellsbury
Gardner
Sanchez
Judge
Holliday
Bird
Castro
Headly
Gregorius
the 3,4,5 for me is at a lossComment

Texas Rangers Update Season 1 : MOM
The end of July has come and so has a complete collapse by the Texas Rangers. We currently sit at 48-64 a whopping 21 and a half games out of first place. Right now its just time to play out the string and hope next year will bring better results. My pitching has been atrocious. 29th in ERA. Hammels is on the 60 day DL, Darvish is 7-9 with a 3.8 ERA, and the other starters aside from trade acquisition Tanner Roark are both well over 5. Tanner has been a breath of fresh air with a 13 win record and ERA in the low 3's. The bullpen is terrible, aside from Diekman its a mess. For some reason Beltre is down to a 77 rating now despite hitting 320 with a team leading 62 RBI's.Comment
