Any suggestions of 3rd/4th OF types I could trade for with some contact and speed? Or some backup catchers that could be available?

        2017 Indians Franchise

In what was supposed to be a pretty easy road to the AL Central crown, we find ourselves in second place a little over halfway through the year. Coming up on the trade deadline, we sit at 53-46, .5 games behind the Tigers for the AL Central lead. And we also have some competition nipping on our heels with both the Royals and Twins only 5 games back. We are gonna have to get the bats going to hopefully pull away in the second half. Here are some highlights so far:

        - Edwin has brought his bat from Toronto and is having an MVP type season. He is actually in 2nd place voting behind Miguel Cabrera. EE leads us in Hrs with 26, RBI with 69, and an OBP of .445.

        - Brantley has returned to old form and is second in the league for BA. His .332 avg is right behind Cabrera for the league lead. Only 7 hrs and 34 RBI but gonna shift the lineup to give him more RBI chances.

        - Looks like we found our future 3rd baseman in Yandy Diaz. He is 3rd in AL ROY voting batting .240 with 9 HRs and 31 while splitting time with J-Ram at 3rd. With
J-Ram struggling at the plate, I plan to start Yandy at 3rd more and put Ramirez back to a utility role by giving Lindor, Kip, or Brantley a day off when needed.

        - Lindor, Kip, and Santana started the year out slow but their bats have heated up in the last month are I'm hoping to continue that through the rest of the year.

        - Carrasco and Tomlin have been my stud starters on the year with Salazar and Kluber struggling early on. Carrasco is in the lead for AL Cy Young with a 12-3 record and ERA of 2.24. Tomlin is 9-5 but he has sported a 1.98 ERA in what has been a surprise year out of our fifth starter.

        - The outfield has been an adventure this year. With the exception of Brantley and Almonte (who has been hurt most the year), we haven't gotten much production from anyone else. AJax, Guyer, and Chisenhall, and Naquin have all underperformed. Naquin got sent down early in the year and Will probably stay unless he puts up the numbers. But Zimmer will probably be making his debut soon as he has a .355 avg at AAA and hopefully will come in a provide a youthful spark. I'm looking into some possible deals to bring a RF with some pop in to help us in the 2nd half. AJax, Guyer, and Chisenhall will probably end up in the minors or heading out of town.

Have enjoyed this franchise so far. I bumped up difficulty to HOF and have used some new sliders this year. Enjoying the challenge and actually enjoy losing from time to time. I'm not near the top of the league in every statistical category and I find myself fighting to win the division. Should be a fun second half of the year.

Quick update to my Padres Franchise.

It's currently May 7th and the Padres are 13-19 which puts them in 4th place 6.5 games behind the division leading Dodgers.

Travis Jankowski is on the 10 Day DL with a broken leg. Bad timing, as he was hitting .283 with 6 SB's and playing great defense. It looks like he'll be out 4-8 weeks.

Hunter Renfroe won rookie of the Month for April hitting .344 with 7 bombs for the month. He's cooled down a bit but as it stands now is hitting .330 with 7 bombs and 19 RBI. Not bad for a team with a team BA of .231. Will Myers has gotten off to a slow start hitting at a .228 clip but he does have 8 home runs and 21 RBI.

          Team Stats Leaders

          AVG
          H. Renfroe .333
          E.Aybar .245
          Y.Solarte .238

          Home Runs
          W.Myers 8
          H.Renfroe 7
          R.Schimph 4

          RBI
          W.Myers 21
          H.Renfroe 19
          E.Aybar 11

          Stolen Bases
          T.Jankowski 6
          W.Myers 5

Agentlaw, where are you from in MS? I was born and raised there, but moved out to Phoenix a few years ago.

Also, in my franchise I made a trade for Puig. He could be a nice addition to your outfield. Also, he has one more year remaining on his contract.

I'm from Northeast MS...only Indians fan around these parts. And yes, I was a fan way before last year's run lol.

And yeah, Puig is another option I might look into. Wanting a lefty bat but it's not a necessity.

Through the first 5 games I'm sitting at 2-3.

The young arms looked great in their debuts.

                    Anderson Espinoza - 6 IP, 0 R, 3K, ND
                    Cal Quantrill - 6 IP, 1 R, 6 K 1.50 ERA, however suffered a 1-0 loss.

Luis Urias is hitting .400 through the first 5 games playing SS every day.

Allen Cordoba is hitting .333 playing LF every day.

                    Lineup has been

                    CF - Margot - .231, 1HR, 1 RBI
                    LF - Cordoba - .333, 1 RBI
                    1B - Myers - .138, 0 HR, 0 RBI - really struggling
                    RF - Renfroe - .308, 1 HR, 3 RBI
                    2B - Solarte - .273, 2 HR, 4 RBI
                    3B - Spangenberg - .211, 1 RBI
                    C - Hedges - .250, 1 RBI
                    SS - Urias - .400

                      End of April - 2018

13-13 after the first month of the season. Tied with the Tigers for last in the central. Indians lead the division at 18-9. Only 1.5 games out of a wild card spot. Its kind of surprising that we are .500 right now. Neither the offense or pitching are doing all that well.

The offense has scored 91 runs tied with the A's. Only Baltimore has less at 84. We are 16th in AVG (.257), 28th in OBP (.302), and 20th in SLG% (.403). We are 1st in strikeouts with 154. 11 less than the Red Sox in 2nd. And 2nd in SB% at .900 (18 of 20). Raul Mondesi leads the team in AVG at .333. He played really well in April last year and then fell of the face of the earth so hopefully he doesnt repeat that. Peter O'Brien leads the team in OBP at .370. He is also hitting .320 with 24 hits. Surprisingly only 1 of those is a HR. Jorge Soler leads the team in SLG at .624. Hitting .290/.333/.624 overall. tied for the AL lead in HR with 8. To go along with 7 doubles. Only has 11 ?RBI to show for it though. No one seems to like getting on in front of him. Alex Gordon suffered a shoulder tear on April 11th. He was hitting .206/.270/.294 in 8 games. He will be back sometime in June most likely. Salvador Perez should come off the DL in the next 10 days. He has been out since spring training with a broken forearm.

On the pitching side pretty much everyone is either good or bad. Not much in between. Overall we have a 4.16 ERA. That is 19th in the majors. Our starters have a 3.70 ERA. And that is heavily inflated by Kyle Zimmer. He is 1-4 with a 7.46 ERA in 25.1 IP. Without him the starters ERA drops to 2.91. Duffy, Hammel and Strahm all have an ERA under 3 (2.87, 2.79, and 2.39). Mike Minor is the last with a 3.58 ERA. As for the relievers Travis Wood has yet to allow a run in 7.1 IP. Brian Flynn has given up 1 run in 14 IP (0.64 ERA). And Ryan Webb has given up 2 run sin 13 IP (1.38 ERA). Then you have Joakim Soria with 11 runs allowed in 11 IP (9.00 ERA), Kelvin Herrera with 6 runs allowed in 9.2 PI (5.59 ERA), Seth Maness with 10 ERA allowed in 9 IP (10.00 ERA) and Nathan Karns with 19 runs in 26 IP (6.58 ERA). So like i said they are either good. Or they are bad.

Going to be sending Zimmer and Karns down to AAA. Tyler Beede will replace Zimmer in the rotation. He is 5-1 with a 0.92 ERA in 39 IP so far. Josh Staumont will replace Karns. He is 2-1 with a 2.30 ERA in 27.1 IP. Also doing well in the AAA rotation is Miguel Almonte (2-1, 2.63 ERA in 24 IP) and Christian Binford (2-2, 2.83 ERA in 28.2 IP).

On the offensive side Ryan McLain our 4th round pick from last year has been amazing so far. He started the year in AA. In 5 games he hit .522/.577/.696. Was moved up to AAA to fill in for Billy Burns who was called up to replace Gordon. Since then he has hit .338/.402/.419 with 7 SB in 17 games. He may need to be called up soon if some guys cant start getting on base. Zane Evans is hitting .348/.408/.536 with 3 HR. Bubba Starling is hitting .309/.383/.494 with 3 HR. Cheslor Cuthbert was hitting .313/.365/.493 but broke his arm. Will be out till mid to late June.

Down in AA a couple other guys from the 2017 draft are also playing well. One of them extremely well. 3rd round pick Austin Prado has dominated everyone. 3-0 with a 0.31 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP in 29.1 IP. Has allowed just 1 run so far. Only 2 walks allowed with 25 K's. Only 18 years old. Gonna leave him down here for another month at least and then move him up to AAA if he keeps playing well. and our 3rd round pick Richard Bong is hitting .333/.369/.600 with 3 HR in 60 AB. I think that may have been my best draft ever in the show. Prado and McLain could both be up and playing really good really soon.

Can I ask how you are playing your franchise? Are you doing play one sim 5?

So I am disappointed. Ketel Marte and Dansby Swanson retired year one to Achilles tears. Ian Desmond retired because of a torn labrum. Wtf? Also, De La Torre, Otani, and the other Asian pitches retired because of market...

What do I do with Marte? I've been struggling and have lost like 17 of 20. Marte got hurt earlier in the season and was out for a month and a half. Do I bring him back or wait till July 20th when he is actually scheduled to return in real life?

He was hitting .400 with 7 HR and 8 SB in 15 games so not having him is KILLING me.

I would bring him back. I had plans on him being my everyday shortstop year two. He was playing really well in a leadoff role for me. Really a shame.
